Dreams are a good stepping stone

It is one way of checking your progress. The first important thing is to remember your dreams every single night. The second step is to even remember dreams from the middle of the night, not only the dreams from the morning. The next step is obviously when you start thinking about AP, OBE,... in the middle of the dream. The next one is when you become lucid. And that's about it, because from a lucid dream you can OBE very easily. You can eaither start OBE from the lucid dream directly, such as for example realizing that the  dream is actually the astral world. Then you need to raise your level of clarity and level or awareness (consciousness, lucidity) in the lucid dream to get it as real as the astral experience. The other thing you can try when you are in a lucid dream is to decide to stop dreaming and to wake up. Then as you start waking up, do not move your body, do not move an inch and try to reach for that feeling of the deep sleep and dream you just had before. From there, what worked for me was to reach for the feeling of free fall (as if I was falling from a clif) and that brings the vibrations. Once the vibrations are very strong then I start moving and I actually move in the astral, not the physical - I get up my bed.

So it looks as if you are on the right track.

What about the occurence of epic dreams? Seems like they stick even if I stop trying or am unable to have obe's. By epic I am talking about ones that follow a story from start to end, rather than the typical jumping around of images.
In the world in general and in this nation
May not even the names disease, famine, war, and suffering be heard.
May virtuous qualities, merit, and prosperity greatly increase
And may continuous good fortune and subline well-being perfectly arise.

Yeah, I have to say that ralphm has a good point.  In MY OPINION..when you remember a dream, from start to finish..a epic, as he said so nicely, it is a sign of something a bit more, or why else remember it?

We all have are 'release' dreams, heck we need those.  But think back on the ones that stick out in your mind.  Bet they had a deeper meaning than the rest.  I would call those, OOBE, unless you are wicked cool, and remember all the nonsense ones that pop from subject to subject.  Eh..ok..I remember some of those subject to subject ones, but I knew they were only release dreams. [:D]  Cool, non the less.

Since I have become aware of OBE's and having esxperienced a few myself,  I've become more self aware when I'm dreaming, and my dreams have become EXTREMELY vivid, as if I wasn't dreaming at all, but actually there. Sometimes it's just really interesting to just sit there and watch it instead of trying to OBE. I've done this sometimes, and the dream ends up shifting from subject to subject, from beginning to end, over a long span of time, VERY LONG dreams, I guess you could call that an epic too. This happened last night coincidently.

Last night was the 2nd night experimenting with my new obe method using magnets.  Had a little difficulty concentrating on the blackness behind the eyelids this time.  But the good news is that I had another vivid dream about obeing plus I gained some lucidity.

I really cannot think about attempting an obe from somewhere else but a dream

How about this then:

Through Self Hypnosis I induce OBE's;
Through Dreams I induce Lucidity;

I'm pretty certain that those are not the only ways to cause an effect on the predetermine objective.I am sure there are many other a ways of inducing OBE's as well as LUCID dreams...

Happy dreaming folks...

usually when i have vibrations , i dont move becuase i end up moving in real life , and then it begins to fade...so do u think im having some sorta fake vibrations?..
Is the physical supposed to be paralysed r sumthin when vibrating....

When I find I haven't been practicing my obes for a while & then restart the practicing weeks or months later, I know I'm making progress when my dreams appear a certain way.

For instance, when I start to get lucidity in my dreams or dream about the ability to move objects, I know I'm getting closer to the objective of getting obes.

It's a good way for me to track my progress easily.
