The shrub family

This morning I dreamt of this poor family. The parents were so badly deformed because of a genetic mutation that caused them to be part shrub. The kids were more human-like, but the parents were definitely more plant than human.

For some reason, I kept running into their house and taking this custom made, children's book about the family, bringing it back in and repeating the process (all the time fearing I would get caught).

I had a strong feeling of sorrow throughout the dream, as I felt as though this family was really ostracised and depressed as a result. If I recall correctly, the neighbours made fun of them and they didn't live in a good area.
