Dreaming all the time!

So since christmas night Myself and my fiancé Kathryn have been dreaming the minute we sleep till the minute we wake.

Each dream has had a narrative that involves the residual thoughts from whatever was happening that night. For instance the first night I watched a programme about dinosaurs. As soon as I stopped watching it, I went to bed. The minute I began sleeping I was dreaming about owning a juvenile T Rex. After a while that went away and the dream took on a more structured, less 'daily stuff' content.

Last night was the best so far.

I had watched the Butterfly Effect. So when I started dreaming I was in a crappy situation where I was married to a friend I remembered from years ago and Kath was just a friend. I knew this but had to live with it because I had changed the past - this was the Butterfly Effect based content.

But as the dream progressed I found a demo disc for a new console game. The rest of the night or 6 hour dream... was spent playing the game.

The problem is.. the game was one of the best ideas I have ever seen... so much so that I'll be damned if I repeat the plot/content/idea here without first finding out if it can't be developed. One small niggle is that it requires next-next gen computer hardware to develop. Still... it's worth keeping to myself... sorry.

On the other hand.. Kath has also reported dreaming solidly to the point she is slightly exhausted when she wakes up. She doesn't normally dream by the way.

This isn't normal 'dreaming'... there doesn't seem to be any break in the dreaming.. no cycling... no slow wave sleep to REM sleep cycling I mean.

The exciting thought is that it would be AMAZING to become Lucid during the dream. I'll just have to figure it out.

I'll keep you posted. This is very interesting.

Great dreaming recall Bedeekin :)

If I can recall in detail all the musicals, music videos I have experienced in my alternate realities/lucid dreaming,
then I can contemplate a career in the music industry.

Unfortunately my recall is only partial.

My son gets many ideas from his many experiences in alternate realities.
He is interested in game programming.

We are spirit, expressing what we will.
We act out perSONAs on our stage of iMAGEination.
We are both the dreamer & the dream.
I think therefore I am.
I am consciousness & potentiality

Very amazing. Just last night I was thinking it might be possible to have such vivid dream recall to the point where you remembered the whole night through, even if it felt like days in the dream world when you were only sleeping for eight hours.

Bedeekin

It's never happened before. Every time and all night. There is no sudden break in narrative or setting. Completely fluid.

The best thing is how we've both noticed that they are starting with thoughts of the day then running into total meandering story threads each with a perfect end that wakes us up at about 7:15... for the last 4 mornings we've both got up fresh headed and chatted for a few hours about each others dream.

It's really unusual for Kathryn to have conscious dreams anyway... let alone having the same type of conscious dreams.

The only side effect seems to be a lingering memory of it for nearly the full day... like it's hard to shake the mood of it. Constantly in our thoughts.

Bedeekin

Again. Both woke up. 07:15. Both had a full night of dream.

Having read your posts over the last couple of years its very clear that you're an experienced dreamer/lucid/AP practitioner, can you think of an external reason why you and your wife have become so much more in tune with your dreams? Did you have some major breakthroughs about 4 months ago?

Very cool experience that you're having and glad you're sharing it with us.

Bedeekin

I did but it's more weird that Kathryn is getting it.

We actually both met at the end of the dream this morning... it was slightly tenuous. Like... we didn't actually remember meeting and doing and seeing exactly the same stuff. But it there were elements that are quite interesting.

In both our dreams it was again all night... a long meandering 'journey' type dream and both weren't with each other till the end.. although we were both in each others thoughts throughout. Not to an obsessive degree... but we did know each other were absent for reasons of our own.

I ended up working in the top tier of a huge tree house restaurant by the end of the dream. All the workers were being ran ragged by the female Maître d. They were all under her sexy spell and I had had enough of working there. I went down the long spiral stairway down to the massive municipal park that the tree rested in. There I met Kathryn to show her my uncle hand't left us the million pounds in his will. She was with a few people... the park was full of people with pets and stuff. I then ran along a hedge and into a french restaurant where I tried to buy some clothes to change into. My waiter costume looked ridiculous and smelt of cooking. I met back up with Kath and we both woke up.

In her dream... she ended up in what she described as a large ornamental garden that was packed with people. I met her asked her if she had put the Lottery on... a dog was bothering her and wouldn't stop barking. I went missing for about 10 minutes then came back... we woke up.

We have had a chat and are going to try meeting up or thinking about each other.

I honestly cant' say why at the moment.

Dreamshards

That's very incredible that the two of you are in sync with each others dreams. I have only heard about such a thing in stories, though I completely believe it to be possible.

ChopstickFox

That's pretty amazing... Only a few times have I had anything similar. Once I wrote a dream down in a composition book and it nearly filled up 200 pages before it reached the part where I woke up! Crazy!!!

I haven't remembered many dreams recently (mostly because of the stress of the wedding), but last night was weird with a mix of 100% completely lucid (but short) parts. It's funny because part of it was playing a video game, however, I kept dying on the sub final boss. Cool mechanics. Crazy how stuff like that can happen, eh?
Take to the sky, feeling so alive! Past the clouds to the Milky Way, share our secrets with the starry brigade. The stars surround us like a million fireflies. For once I see infinity... it's in your eyes.

Bedeekin

It happened again.  :-P

All damn night.

I'm not complaining by the way. Kath's sounded amazing. It involved a plane crash and an undersea world. Mine was more analytical and spent working out abstract FX shots for a film I'm doing work on in reality. It gave me a few ideas. I've sent them to the director.

ChopstickFox

That's so cool! So it's just like totally recall from throughout the whole night. The past two nights I have been remembering huge strings but I would be very reluctant to say that it went on the whole night. Though in all honestly I didn't sleep long last night... Took someone to the airport at 5am and didn't see the point of sleeping before... @_@

It's not like normal dream recall... it's like normal experience recall... so I am experiencing it all night, all realtime like a film or just being there.

It is happening whenever I sleep... even just napping.

Also the OOBE I had previous to the dream I had last night wasn't even hampered by the alcohol I had consumed. I didn't actually overdo it.. only a few gin and tonics and some champagne.

Then I had a little sleep at around 5pm and I dreamt solidly then.

Kath has just been telling me about hers she just had during her nap. Very detailed.

Who says nothing changed Dec 21st 2012? I think you are living proof that something has changed.

It's kind of funny though because you were one of the Dec 21st strongest opponents here.

It looks like you been advanced up a level my friend and Kathryn is joining you in this new quest.   :-)

Bedeekin

Haha... yeah. That thought has crept in every now and then.  :-D

Hey B,
Is there something missing?
From your previous post, there may be something subtle that both of you are not seeing or rather feeling.
This extreme clarity and total recall smells test-y.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Bedeekin

I know.

They are very narrative based and completely immersive. None of them have had repeated motifs in terms of storyline, motive or setting.  I began writing them down but they are a bit long.  If there were any repeated motifs I would stand a better chance of becoming Lucid in them.

One curious thing is that this morning I went back to bed and tried to induce and instead began to dream. I was half awake because I was altering the details of the dream consciously... but it wasn't lucid.

The dream was of me doing a Panto... a silly festive play with songs and lame jokes... I think they are a UK thing... anyway... I was to do a magic trick but was totally unprepared. I was to appear with another actor who was playing the straight magician. I decided that slap-stick was the best thing to try because I didn't have any tricks up my sleeve. There was a huge desk in front of us on stage with the magic props on it. I whispered to the other magician to help me get the top hat that was out of reach.. so he hoists me onto the desk whereupon I slid over the top of it and fell off the stage... making the audience laugh. I got up and tried to rock climb around the edge of the stage... the other guy watching me like I was an idiot... the audience wasn't laughing as much. So I changed the scenario... I made the stage higher and began it again... but I forgot to tell the other Magician to hoist me up... I began again and this time reminded him to do it... This went on a few times. Each time I consciously changed the show until it got funnier. By the time I had got to the end of the dream the stage was about 20 feet high and joke police had turned up to add more calamity to the show. I eventually got arrested for real.

As I was being led across the yard of the theatre to the cop car I kept 'performing' and being quite cheeky to the police... I was aware it was a dream I could change but wasn't lucid. I wasn't taking anything in the dream seriously... no matter how real the police were acting. There was one point that a cop hit me over the head with a truncheon... it was soft like a prop. I took it off him and hit him on the head "CLONK" it was rock hard. His head was split open and his brains began to leak out. I put a police helmet on him telling him that it would keep his skull together. One of the female police women started crying because I had nearly killed her work buddy. I started to console her... we started kissing... the audience began cheering... and the curtains fell down in front of us. The whole thing had been a play.

I'd guess you were totally immersed but not aware of everything as in the physical or even when on a RTZ type of experience.
The event takes all your thoughts and you have no time to think. Its a react now or lose sort of feeling.
If so, some thought may be required as to what isn't happening.
If not enjoy them. They sound fascinating.

Bedeekin, now is the time to start experimenting with them. Instead of staying to the current script, per say. Try to deviate away from it. Let's say you found yourself as an actor in a play. Try to move the scene to a mountainous setting or a peaceful riverboat cruise. Try to see how much leeway you actually have with the scenario. Try to create anew, like for example a pet Tiger on a leash, just to see what how everyone else reacts to it. Have fun with it.

This will show you if it is "supposed" to stay on topic or not. I find that when I try to deviate, but still see that I have no control over my surroundings/scenery, that this is a time that there really is something of substance to learn. When that happens I surrender myself 100% to the current scenario and observe every little thing, trying to find out where the "lesson" might be. You have to have complete awareness at this point though.

Do you feel like you are the Director in these Dreams or are you just an actor? Can you "whisk" Kathryn off her feet and land on another Planet far, far away or do you two meet quite a bit in the Dream like a scene from Friends, where it is destined to occur?

Bedeekin

Yes.. that's what I intend to do.

Like this morning I was aware I was dreaming but it was more like controlling the scenario than 'being there' which is what would be the goal. I could actually say I wasn't fully asleep because I knew I was dreaming in bed and kept waking up... but not waking up because there was no shift in consciousness in a awake - dream - awake - dream way... more a darweaakme state. ;)

I will try tonight by affirming and keeping it in my thoughts before I drift off. One marked noticeable thing is that the dream begins with whatever I was doing before I went to sleep... like what I have read or watched.

I am a participant but only in the usual 'dream' state... in that I am involved consciously but only within the narrative of the dream... I believe what is going on basically, which is the marked 'given' of a dream. The delusion that the narrative is real is what drives normal dreams and keeps us from becoming Lucid.

Oliver Fox called lucid dreams 'Dreams of Knowing'... where one knows he is dreaming. This is what I need to do.

I had a slight 'Dhur' feeling when I came out of the one this morning because I was aware it was a dream but didn't step into it like I would a Lucid dream or an OOBE... I didn't notice it. I was wrapped up in the narrative of me wrapped up in the narrative of the scenario.
