Dreams inside dreams

Occasionally I have a dream inside of my dream. I will wake up but still be in a dream.....
I once woke up inside dried tinkle in a train (after having a lucid dream) as if I had passed out there, I could smell it. Don't know what that was about (and no I didn't wet my bed or had to use the bathroom). It only lasted a few seconds, I got up looked around and someone was looking back at me. Then I woke up for real.

Some say its easier to go to the lucid when you wake up from a dream and still are in a dream... I disagree, its so confusing. It seems like reality since you have a memory of a dream. When I woke up in that train I thought I had woken up for real and it was confusing since I tried to remember why I was in the train.

Did anyone else ever have a dream inside a dream?

I have had the dream inside a dream experience only once that I can recall.  I had a dream where I was walking around in my house.  I knew I was dreaming but I was still really tired.  I thought it was kinda weird but I went with it like I do with many of my dreams, even the lucid ones, and headed off to find a place to sleep.  I went into my room which was different from how it was at the time and lied down and quickly fell asleep in my dream.  I soon found myself in a different dream which was also lucid, but this one was extreamly lucid.  It continued on for some time before I woke up.  But when I woke up the first time I was still in my 1st dream house and bed.  I didn't stay there very long before I woke up for real.  It some what felt like a false awakening when I woke up, in which case I would put the whole dreaming in a dream sequence as what happens before you have a false awakening.

thats kind of odd. I was searching google and deviantart using the words "Dream within a dream" before i found this.

Yes I do have dreams within a dream. in fact, i had one just recentley. the dream in a dream, was me waking up on my bed from a dream (the dream i just finished). However, i was awake and still paralyzed, and incurred an episode of sleep paralasis. I fell off my bed, onto the floor, tried to move, tried to scream, and slowly moved my limbs trying to break from it. i eventually snapped out of it, and woke up.

That was just yesterday actually

I've had like 5 dreams within dreams!  Where, I would wake up, and try to go tell my friend about the dream I just had, only to wake up again... and go try to tel my friend about the dream I had, only to wake up again... etc.  LOl.  It's really annoying.

I too have dreams inside dreams.  In my first dream, I can lay down and go to sleep to then dream of my second dream.  Or wake up into my first dream.  They're strange things.  I'm having them more often recently.

They're different from false awakenings, where I believe I'm awake.

The dreams within dreams, I tend to know I'm dreaming in both.

I quite like the idea that not only do we live in a multi-dimensional universe, it is also multi-layered, so perhaps we are not only shifting from one dimension (first dream) to another (second dream), but also shifting a layer up/down/diagonally/whatever and thus doing a double shift of our consciousness, taking us further away from the physical, or closer to inside of us, depending on your beliefs.

My head is spinning now.  :-P
