That sounds pretty frightening, man! I don't remember ever actually dying in a dream, but i do remember fearing for my life many times. Still, i'm sure it doesn't come close to actually being killed. When you say pain, do you mean physical, emotional, or both?

Let me tell you, being on the other side is no fun either. I'm not speaking from real life experience [:o)] only in a dream. It actually happened the other night. I won't go into details because it's still pretty freaky, but i just remember stabbing somebody in the face a lot and when i woke up i felt sick.
I think i did it more than once though, and the people i was doing it to made it even worse. I think it was half in self-defence though. Like they started to attack me and i just lost control sort of thing.

I was wondering how i could do that to somebody, but in the end you realise it's just a dream and dreams are very metaphoric and cryptic. You just gotta figure out when it signifies for you.

Sweet dreams! [;)]

more than once I've been murdered in a dream.one of them was when I was shot in the back of the head!

it wasn't so much as 'painful',but a very jarring blow to the back of the head.then i blacked out, died, and woke up w/"1875" flashing through my mind.

Well, no. I don't watch horror movies very often, and I'd sooner watch an action movie, comedy, or even Disney than a horror movie. I scare really easily.

To answer your question Euphoric, it hurt like hell both emotionally and physically. Of course, I knew that it was nowhere near what people in reality would feel, and at the moment of death I just became myself again, or somebody else.

Never raise a blade to someone in coldhearted malice. It's just wrong. As for samurai duels...those are just awesome.[:P]

No amount of rigorous training, sitting and doing nothing, and clearing one's mind can help a man who hasn't overcome his doubts.

I have also died in dreams either as myself or as a stand in for a dream person. Just a few days ago I dreamt of a young 11 year old boy and his dad who were being hunted down by criminals.
As I observed this suddenly the boy was taken out of the dream and I was put in his place instead. No one noticed the switch and I was shot in the chest about 6 to 8 times. I fell to my knees stunned and with a numb awful throb in my chest, feeling myself die.
I woke up startled, shocked, and extremely disoriented.

I had the scariest and most painful experiences in my dreams last night, and I would NOT sleep for hours on end after I woke.

To put it simply - I was murdered. More than once even. I assumed the roles of characters in a scary movie (or scary movie based concept/world) where somebody had made a "Blood Oath," making a bunch of crazed killers hunt us like animals. Every time they put us to the test. A sick, disgusting test, where I would be scared virtually s**tless.

But then, to make it even worse, there were times when I would all of a sudden be in the body of somebody who had FAILED the tests, although I was safe. I was there, in their bodies, being MURDERED.

Eventually, after about 3 nights of horrific pain and resurrection back into what felt to be MY true body, I awoke (in the dream world) to the sound of motors. I asked my friends what was going on, and they said that this was the part when they came along as lawnmowers, but in actual fact planned to kill us all with chainsaws. We snuck out of the garden and went to the corner store, where, for some reason, the owner was a gunsmith. When my gun was finally forged, I waited there for the b**tards to come past so I could head shot them all in their green "lawnmowing" truck.

Eventually after playing Camping Carl I awoke, scared to death about the whole ordeal. Being murdered hurts. It hurts like hell. Even in the dream I knew that I was experiencing only a fraction of the pain someone in the real world would experience.

All I can say is that that dream was horrific, painful, scary, confusing, hard to decifer, and has opened my eyes to the fact that murderers are evil b**tards that should all be put away for eternity.
