Black shadow in dream and out of dream

Hi a person I know often has dream about a black shadow, it often tells him to do bad things in his dream, he has stated that he has woken up, seen and sensed its presence, the other night it happened and the dog started barking at something that was in the room, he said he had a dream and recalls the word diablo, does anyone have any ideas of what may be happening?

Maybe it's an evil spirit.A demon.I would advice him to pray to god if he feels like it.
