I've been finding myself having some really intense dreams lately, they have all the dream logic nonsense going on in them, but at their core they explicitly revolve around things that are going on in my life, or rather have gone on, & are still going on for me, emotionally. I mean I had a pretty confusing one a couple nights ago involving some people I hardly know but I'm not exactly on friendly terms with, & the whole way through the dream I was oscillating between aggression towards them & then wanting to know them, actually be friends with them, even help them, while there stance towards me was a steady passively aggressive one. I've never really had dreams like this before, with constant conflict between feelings, but I've had about 4 now in the last couple of weeks, highlighting conflicted feelings about people who have been in my life, as far back as a permanent falling out between my best friends at age 16. Things I haven't even really thought about for a long time! Felt like sharing something that seemed, new.

I am a very passive-aggressive person but I usually feel terrible after I hurt someone's feelings. I tend to have dreams in which I am aggressive physically after I have offended someone. Sometimes I enjoy my aggression in the dreams and I hope this is a way of dealing with the emotional aspects so that I have better control in the physical. But who knows. Hope this helps in some way.

I don't really have violent dreams any more, they're generally pretty cheerful & comical! They're supposed to so symbolic that what happens very rarely is the issue being drawn attention to, supposedly anyway... I don't really know much about interpreting dreams.

here's a short dream I had a few weeks ago if anyone wants to give a shot at interpreting it  :-D -

So I walk into an old style wild wild west bar, everything in the dream is kind of sepia tone, it was a post apocalyptic setting btw, so this big guy approaches me & challenges me to a fight for a bet, now this wasn't an aggressive fight, it was totally comical & ridiculous, so we end up on the stairs with him having the higher ground, & I grab him by the foot & lift his leg up as I walk up the steps till the bottom of his foot is facing the ceiling, but as I'm doing this his leg turns into something like a plastic broom handle/crutch & he goes tumbling down the stairs & I win... yay me!

So he comes over to give me my winnings for beating him, he lifts his leg up, the one he has left, takes off his shoe & gives it to me... Just the one...

wtf? Seriously, am I one shoe short of a pair or what??

I can believe that this dream was actually a competition between you and the other guy. And then finally, you have won the challenge.

Haha! Sounds like fun. I hope you like shoes. :)

When I try to interpret my dreams I think about what has been going on in my waking life very broadly and try to draw parallels. I don't think I'm all that great at it because dreams can seem VERY random, but sometimes it's not the answer that is most helpful. It's the process of contemplating. One thing that I try to when interpreting is viewing myself as all the characters, trying to interpret everything as internal rather than external before looking at other possibilities. For example, maybe you are conflicted about something internally if you are in a fight.
Take to the sky, feeling so alive! Past the clouds to the Milky Way, share our secrets with the starry brigade. The stars surround us like a million fireflies. For once I see infinity... it's in your eyes.

Yeah definitely, because you're likely to draw parallels on things that at some level or another you view as important, whether it really related to the dream or not, you're drawn to contemplate on something you may otherwise have not. I like that, viewing it all as different aspects of yourself. I don't really try to interpret my dreams very often, but I tend to only pay attention to emotionally charged ones, and look at how my character reacts to things. I've started to keep a dream journal recently to try & improve recall, will probably get quite into interpreting, will try your view point out on some of my dreams I've got noted down. I am indeed a very conflicted personality  :|
