Getting objective information while in LD - my experience

Hi all!

I have LD about twice a month almost since when I was a kid. I do not try to induce them any way - I just enjoy that they come as a surprise  :-D

I also started interesting about OBEs (out-of-body experiences) and I am reading a Robert Monroe book about "Journeys out of the body". I find really exciting how he tries to prove himself and others that OBEs are real and that he is seeing the real physical world while in OBE.

I haven 't had OBEs.

I also am active member in some message board where people talk about various paranormal, metaphysical, esoteric things. There are also lots of skeptical people. I myself although believe that OBEs are real, but I am a bit skeptical, how much useful data can I get from it. One person told that he would believe if someone who has not been in his home before could describe something in details, like a pattern of a wallpaper in his room.

And now comes the most surprising part. Last night I had a LD. Suddenly I remembered the conversation with that skeptical person and then just out of a curiosity (I did not believe myself that it'll be useful) I made a strong wish "I want to know any useful information about that person". AT that moment my LD changed. The previous scene vanished and now I saw a big wall with a wallpaper. At first wallpaper was blurry and had some vertical stripes on it. I started concentrating on the pattern and then I saw some popcorn-like orange flower with some horizontal stripe as a peduncle.

Next I saw some 20-30 old person in a open blazer and a t-shirt under it, t-shirt was dark colored and had white big letters on it. Somehow I thought it is dark red, and thought that it has something to do with some sports event.

Next the scene moved a bit away but I saw nothing certain, only one thought came to me - something negative with the father, conflict or something like that.

Next came various scenes but they are not meaningful - although I was just an observer and seemed disconnected from what I saw.

Next I had a false awakening - and told everyone what a dream I had  :-D

And finally when I woke up, I went to PC and told all the details form my dream, I tried to filter away my subjective impressions, and I did not tell the name of the person which I was dreaming of. I just told - if someone sees some pattern in those details, then please respond.

And he did. Three details matched .. almost. He really had a wallpaper with abstract flower-like pattern with orange flowers and some blue elements (missing blue in my dream). He recently had bought a black (not dark red) T-shirt with light letters - white and gray, and he really had some conflicts with his father.

Of course, we both are still skeptical about the results - there are many people who have t-shirts with white letters, orange-flowered wallpapers and conflicts with fathers. But we also cannot ignore it and say that it is 100% nothing. So next time I'll try again, think about some certain details not just "some information" and we'll see where it goes.

I am really curious, has anyone tried something similar, and what are the results?

Sounds pretty good.  That's quite the verification.  :)

You're in the same situation in regards to OBEing as I am.
I've been Lucid Dreaming pretty much for as long as I can remember.  I've always thoroughly enjoyed my surprise LD's when I experience them.

You say you've never OBE'd before...
Well, since you Lucid dream as much as I do, would you be surprised to know that at least SOME of those lucid dreams were OBEs? :)

In my opinion, Dreams, Lucid Dreams and Astral Projections/OBEs all happen in the same place.  That place was labeled by Frank (a fellow used to post here) as Focus 2, which is also known as your subconscious.  :)

I hope that helped some.

There has been one lucid dream I had while inside my old house. I knew I was dreaming the whole time, but now that I was in  my house, I though it'd be good to go fly around and explore my dream world for some symbols to interpret upon wakening.

But before I could fly out of the window, a black dock was pulling my leg with it's teeth. It wasn't vicious or hurting, just trying to get my attention. So I pulled back into the house and made a commitment to explore the house instead for signs. Like the dog was telling me to look inside the house.

I found my family lying in their respectable beds with a black dog sitting on the side of the bed, sort of watching them. When I finally got to my room, expecting to see myself laying in the bed, I saw my sister lying in my bed instead and there were no black dogs in my room, but everyone elses. This is all I remember.

I woke up with a feeling that the interpretation in this dream is the most useful yet, seeing that I was lucidly looking for signs.

Thanks for replies.

I'll tell you how it went further. Although I guess the second time was a failure, but the experience was so vivid and fun anyways  :-D.

That skeptic person and I - we both agreed that those results are not good enough. Too many people have wallpapers with orange flowers, T-shirts with letters and conflicts with parents. He told me - if I could get information about the other wallpaper in his room and some specific items in his room (he said he had something specific that most people usually do not have), then the results would be more believable.

So next evening I was thinking a lot about how to get this info in my dream. When I fell asleep, I had dreams about some aliens which opened an information channel through my TV, but I had to tune the mp4 decoder to receive the information  :-D. Complete rubbish, I guess.

At one moment I became lucid though. The memory returned back and somehow I felt that I'll wake up soon (maybe that was just my experience with previous LDs - they usually happen shortly before I wake up) so I have to hurry. In a dream I was in some room in a party with my relatives. I went out to the hallway, and the voices went somewhere at the backplane. In a hallway I thought of that person and that I would like to meet him. And there he came. But then I remembered R.Monroe's experiments and how he failed to make people remember what he was saying to them during AP. So somehow I thought that the person I see is not really himself, but his subconscious part or astral twin or something like that, and I treated him that way.
I said "Please, give me some details about specific items in your room".
He hesitated, looked at me and asked "Will it be fair?" (I guess, he thought - what is the point of the experiment if he tells me everything; it was like he did not know that he might not be the same physical person).
I insisted: "That is the only way to make the physical you to believe me. Please, hurry." He seemed a bit uncertain, looked around. I thought: maybe for some reason he is not allowed to talk to me. So I decided to be not so insistent. I told : "Of course, speak only if you are allowed to. Please, give me ANY useful information.".
So he told me some words, but he spoke it so quiet that I could not hear, and also the background voices from my "dream party" were still too loud. I asked: "What?" He shouted out: "Sort alphabet" and turned away, but before he left, he said:"Money, money, money" (actually those words meant something like "little money" in my native language, there is no such wordform in English). And the dream faded away and I woke up as usual.
Of course, the phrases "sort alphabet" and  "money, money, money" did not mean anything related to the specific items in the skeptic person's room, but at least we had some fun talking about this lucid dream  :-D

What confuses me a bit - I do not know why did I wake up and how did I know that I'll wake up soon in my LD, it was like I knew that my body will wake up really soon, but I have no idea why, and there is nothing that I can do to stop my body from waking up. When I woke up there was no any visible reason why this happened, it was very early in the morning so I fell asleep again and saw some irrelevant dreams. This feeling about soon waking up happens a lot in my LDs (sometimes I even jokingly say to my dream actors: "By-by, guys, I'll return to my reality now!"), but I cannot stop myself from waking up without any obvious reason  :-(
