Title: failed lucid dream... please help!
Post by: astralpwka on October 02, 2004, 01:11:04
Hi! Welcome to the forums!

Now about the situation... were you really tired? It could be exhaustion limited this dream. Hopefully this type of limitation will only be a part of this dream, and not there next time.

Things that might help are immediately trying for some sense of motion, spinning being the most popular (and later becomes unnecessary, though still highly useful for other things), and demanding vocally for more clarity or lucidity. Try looking around to experience the entire new dream world. [:D]

Good luck!

new to the forums, happy to be here...

i have an experience i have a question about...

ive been practicing techniques to induce lucid dreaming, the specific technique is asking myself if im dreaming constantly.  i was dreaming last night, and somehow came to the realization that i was dreaming.  i tried to do something with this, but could barely move.  i was still asleep, but felt as though all cognitive thought was active as though i was awake.  I felt very disoriented as though drunk, and couldnt go further, and slipped back into sleep.

what was this and why couldnt i proceed to enjoy my lucid dream?

I'm new to this forum and had a short lucid dream the other night. I think in my entire life, I've had about three! :-(

I find the motion thing to be extremely helpful. In this particular dream, I wasn't fully aware but remember saying to myself, "You're dreaming" but it still didn't 'hit home'. I could feel myself beginning to wake up so I started flapping my arms about.

I managed to intentionally jump onto the roof and go through a glass window. The physical sensation was amazing!

Hopefully, I'll be able to master this by reading the forum! :)

P.S. I remember having a lucid dream when I was younger and telling my parents that I was actually dreaming and they weren't real. I brought them up to my bedroom and I was pointing at myself lying in bed, but probably as always, they never believe you!
