"Like the memories were created instead of experienced"

Could they be somebody elses memories?

That's an interesting idea about it being someone else's memory.
Something to think about. Or, would that be a case of denial? Just kidding. [:)]

I have had such a dream. In my series of various kinds of dreams this was among them. It's been a while now, but I recall it as having a deflated feel about it. It seemed like a trick. I think our higher self, or who ever guides us, shows truths. This truth to me is that we indeed can create something that is not accurate. It seems to be a lesson to be careful of false/wrong thinking.
I wonder if the deflated feel that I felt was what many people experience and explain why they are depressed or lack motivation. It provides some insight into others perhaps.
Since then, I have discovered I do dream some false things. It would then seem that one should trust self to a point, but a higher source may be more reliable. Maybe it's an evolving to higher truth. I do know that with synchronicity, things are not what they seem in the big scale of things.
As with you, hard to put in words, this is the best I can do...for now, anyway. I would have to go back and refresh myself from my dream journal for more.

If this dream was created for your own good, is this a bad thing?

Another thought. Do we have to work through our own falsehoods to reach real truth? And at this point, is this when we can begin to effect our waking reality toward a better or more powerful way?

Beavis,

No I don't think they were some one elses in the manner you may be thinking.

It was more like it was some thing created to mask or prevent me from knowing what actually transpired that evening.  To what end I  am not sure.

Wisp,

Since I can't remember the actual contents of the dream itself, only the feeling that some thing did happen, I can not see if any lesson was to be learned from the experience.  But the feeling of it being fake definatly gave me the idea of being tricked.

Hmmm....Good point T_K! This made me think. There are a lot of fake things to deal with in other people, and in society as a whole.

Well I think I may have figured it out because it happened again last night.  Of all the dreams that I remember I am always aware durring the dream.  It may not be a full lucid experience but I am aware that I am dreaming.  This afternoon when I woke up I had the same feeling of it being fake but I could remember chunks of the dream.  The content itself is not important but there was one key element.  I was not aware durring the dream.  So I guess it means that it was like a normal everyday dream, no awareness or lucidity.

I guess that I have become of used to being aware that I was dreaming at the time that it happens that to not be aware durring a dream was an alien feeling to me.  Being able to remember the content this time really helped in figuring it out.

Sudden realization is a fun thing!

Hm ... I had a dream that was KIND of like your dream, but kind of not.  It wasnt particularly related to lucid- though I thought it was since I was trying to practice using psi (I'm the supernewbie when it comes to all of this- I really want to do it but I suppose I have no motivation -__-  And I've had perhaps three or four lucids, all particularly short- most which I cant remember now.  I have to create a separate log for my dreams).  It apparantly wasnt though.  Whatever.  Anyway, it was kind of like you were numb throughout the whole thing, or at least near the end?  Numb, semi-aware, but not at all.  Something like that.  Like looking through a glass wall and youre on the side full of water.  Heh.  I'm wondering about this too o_O

Of all the sensations that I have awaken with after dreaming this has got to be the strangest and I am trying to figure out what it means.  The only way I can describe it is that when I woke up I remembered going to bed, having a dream, realizing it was a dream, and waking up.  However the whole sequence felt fake.

It felt like the entire order of events from start to finished were created for my own good.  Like whatever I remember happening was not what actually happened.  Like the memories were created instead of experienced.

It is difficult to explain fully.

Has anyone else had this feeling of a dream being fake?
