Title: Feeling powerless in lucid dreams
Post by: funfire on March 03, 2017, 02:08:10
So most of the time when I'm semi lucid or lucid in a dream I feel that at times I can't effect the environment at all. Now I found some tricks like opening a door and picturing what you want can mostly work the problem is that I don't always find a door. Sometimes I can sorta hover or like decrease gravity so I can sorta bounce around. However besides that I find that most environments I end up in are very concrete and it's really hard to influence them while lucid. When I'm not lucid this doesn't seem too be a problem. Most of these lucid dream by the way aren't using any method it's usually when I just find myself sleeping. If I do wake up for 10 or 15 minutes I can usually enter the non physical/lucid dream and do what I want.

If you guys know any tricks to getting complete control of a dream I'd love to know.  :-D

Two things:

1. Read the following Topic, it might give you some ideas.

Questions - How To Do Things (Powers and Abilities) In Dream (/Astral) Worlds (/Realms)

http://www.astralpulse.com/forums/welcome_to_astral_consciousness/how_to_do_things_powers_and_abilities_in_dream_astral_worlds_realms-t47019.0.html

2. Read the following book of Carlos Castaneda, it will give you an Idea of FROM WHERE/WHO does the Energy to do those things COMES FROM. (By experience in the Astral Worlds/Realms you will eventually realize/notice/detect it/them and realize that some of it comes from a THIRD PARTY that the Nagual Don Juan explains very well in this book from Chapter 1 to Chapter 9).

3. The third one is the book "The Art of Dreaming" by Carlos Castaneda.

Is fortunate that don Carlos Castaneda wrote this book that treats this specific topic along the all book. This book provides elements that I haven't seen in any of the other books of Lucid Dreaming, as this book, besides it's clear topic of Lucid Dreaming ("ensoñar" in Spanish which is different to just "soñar", because the first one involves being conscious while dreaming, the second one not), also treats the topic of the necessity of having Energy to achieve consciousness, and this is one of the elements that are greatly needed to be able to activate the lucidity in a dream, and the "warrior's path" well explained in the book as a tool to save energy and don't waste it in not useful emotional draining activities (day to day life for non conscious people) so that it can be used to activate lucidity on the dreaming process, of course reinforced with the methods that "don Juan" instructs don Carlos Castaneda; many people don't understand why they can't achieve lucidity in their dreams, and lack of energy is one of the reasons (also not applying the appropriate methods which by reading the 4 books mentioned in this thread/topic are covered); people lose their energy by having (and in may cases searching for) emotional problems (the "warrior's path" will involve getting away from environments, people, and activities, that drain your energy), so that's something that will have to be fixed if someone really wants to be a serious Lucid Dreamer, as what the person will find in that other place will require from him/her to have a well built mental character to advance and evolve his/her consciousness into something more than just being a Human Animal.

Also, the topic of the consciousness being energy is treated in this book, as well as many other elements that would also help to understand elements that lucid dreamers experience like the so called "astral wind" which is the lucid dreamer being transported by the beings that inhabit the non physical world (the one accessed while dreaming and of course lucid dreaming), in this book you'll understand that the beings that are moving your energy consciousness on a lucid dream (the travels that occur by a pulling force on the lucid dreamer's astral/energy body) at very fast speeds, are certain inhabitants that live in that other non physical world, that "don Juan" calls "inorganic beings" (beings that are energy consciousnesses but don't have bodies with organs like the ones we see in plants, animals, and human animals, in this physical world). And many other concepts that will provide lucid dreamers with certain practices to cross the "Gates" that are there to restrict the access to those realms of energy where there are many worlds with civilizations, some similar to ours, other more advanced, some of them inorganic (that don't have organic body functions and restrictions like in the world we currently inhabit) and others organic (like our world).

You can buy it on Amazon (amazon.com) on the following link, read a preview of the book, and read some reviews some persons have posted there, (remember to choose the sold by Amazon option to get the direct fulfillment guarantee by Amazon).

Some of this books can be found on Internet, on eMule, or on torrent, searching resources; again, remember to buy the books that have helped you to Lucid Dream, Astral Travel, or OBE, in legal places such as Amazon or the libraries where you live, so that the authors receive that help from you for their efforts to share their knowledge and investigation with others.

My best regards.

I just want to bump this thread to see if anyone else would like to share their input on this topic.

PhaPriSpa thank you for the information but it's not quite what im looking for. I'm not looking just for idea's for ablitys in dreams. Also I don't want to purchase a book atm. I'm looking how to excute abilitys in dreams. My dreams once I'm lucid, can be very concrete and real and very hard to minipulate once in a higher state of awareness. So I need too figure out way to minipulate my envioment to do as I please.

I've treid many things and some work. I'll give a list of some things I can do in dreams/ non physical.

1. I can float but it is very hard to maintain if im lucid, Im mostly bouncing around. I only fly when im not lucid.
2. if I can find a door I can use it to open to a new envioment.
3. I've been able to minipulate the time of a dream to slow down about 100x but I have only done this a couple times.
4. I can sometimes minipulate the terrain around me but it's pretty difficult varying on what im doing.
5. I can also gain some sort of powers for a very breif time.

One of the things I want to do in my dream is just imagine something infront of me and it will be there. However no matter what I try and how hard I believe I can't just get something to appear right infront of me. Things like that etc... is what I want to try to accomplish.

Why?  :?

There is plenty to explore in a Dream already. Try to find out the purpose for that particular Dream. In other words, don your "Raider's of Lost Ark" mindset and have some fun. That should and usually will keep you busy!   8-)

When I stopped trying to control everything, as in manipulating the scenario, I found that there was a adventure in every experience. Many times when I began to manipulate it, the scenario ended then and there.

At first I observe what is going on. Then I keep the fact that I am in a Dream at the far back of my mind. I then react to whatever scenario I find myself in. It normally begins in a 3rd person view and as I observe further, it soon changes to a 1st person view, just as it does while consciously shifting during a Phase session. But it always leads to some kind of test, quest or challenge.

The fun really begins when you leave that Human aspect of a body behind and just become a point of consciousness. You find yourself in the most unique and extraordinary places. That's where the real and intense "teachings" occur. In other words, change your mindset, you change your reality.

thanks for the input Lumaza. I also agree that for the most part you should go with the flow of the senario while lucid. what I'm wondering now if you still go with the scenario can you use learned abilitys? and if so I would like to learn some.

Also I don't always want to just completely minipulate a dream. but I would like to experience a lucid dream with 100% control. If its possible how could you get to that sorta level of control?

oh and one more thing any tips on how to maintain lucidity while in a dream kinda struggles with that. and how exactly do you become a point of consciousness and what have you experienced there?

Try this document from William Buhlman for some ideas ... not all will apply to lucid dreaming ...

http://www.astralinfo.org/obe-keys-to-control/

For example, while in the dream using the command "clarity now" would be a good one. I have also created affirmations from these "keys to control". As an example, before going to sleep you might recite, "I will have full clarity and awareness when I dream tonight". Create your own, try it out, keep what works.

Dreaming, whether lucid or not, is a non-physical focus.

As Robert Moss says "Dreaming is waking up".
Yes you can still use "learned abilities" as long as they are second nature to you. Meaning, as long as you already know you already have them and that they are natural to you. Any doubt will knock you out.

Quotedon't always want to just completely minipulate a dream. but I would like to experience a lucid dream with 100% control. If its possible how could you get to that sorta level of control?
Try Subtle Traveler's excellent advise. Commands in the "other realms" are very powerful. I stay in the LD with control by allowing myself to become part of it. Like I said, the thought that I am Dreaming is a afterthought. At the time, I am in the scenario as deeply as I am in the current physical scenario right now. It becomes automatic after awhile. You just begin reacting with your current mindset wherever you find yourself.

Quoteand how exactly do you become a point of consciousness and what have you experienced there?
You need to be able to separate yourself from your "Human conditioning". This happens with practice and a little help from your "friends". Ask and you shall receive.
I experience immense Grids. Sometimes I experience and explore areas of just pure information. Other times realms of energy, immense lights. It's really hard to describe in "Human term". Be open to everything. Experience it now, question it later. I have found that if you think there is no end, then there isn't. In other words, keep open. Too many times people that experience the "other realms" come to some conclusion what it really is. When they do, they go no further. I see this often, especially here on the Astral Pulse Forums. Once you decide that you "know it all", School is over and you stay where you were. Many times, when I thought I knew what was really happening, it all changed. I kept open to the change and found myself in a more advanced School of learning.
