Lucid dream to RTZ

I've tried to make it from a lucid dream to the RTZ (real time zone) but seem to get lost easily. I want to travel to my house and do the card test. I have a playing card facing out, taped to my window and want to make a note of it, wake up and confirm that I was right. Problem is I get lost while in my lucid dream and distracted and can't make it to my house. Any advice on how to transfer to the RTZ and narrow in on my house while lucid and remember the card?

This may sound a little dumb, but try and repeat it like a 100 times before you fall asleep, so that you might remember it in your dream.

I also find it difficult to stay focused for a longer time on a single thing while dreaming. I just let most events happen to me, and I interact with them.

Well when you become lucid, immediately say, "Take me to my body now!".  That right there was how I had my first OBE.  And every time I have done that it has worked.
