The lucid dream is nice b/c you can actually jump off a ledge and know you won't get hurt. You mentioned "The Lucid Dreamer". I'd like to find it. Who was the author?
Hi all!
I've been trying to obe for about a year now (I'm satisfied with small slow steps ;) ) but I've always remembered my dreams. For the past few months it's fairly normal for me to remember parts of 3 or 4 dreams every night.
I had always wanted to go lucid, but whenever I become aware of my dreaming in the past I half become aware of my body as well. The only thing I can do is relax my body and follow the dream uncontrolled... which still is pretty fun and interesting.
Well, two days ago I picked up "The Lucid Dreamer" at the library, and perhaps it just inspired me. Before bed I repeated to myself, "I will remember, and I will become aware" and well, I did!!
I was dreaming about a car accident and one of the cars was flying towards me. Just before it collided with me I become aware I was dreaming and everything slowed down. The car stopped and just floated in the air. I decided to test out my lucidity. I waved my hand and the car disappeared. I then looked around a bit, the colors of this street were very vivid and bright. Very unreal in a sense. But then I got overjoyed that it was working and I jumped and started flying up and up like I was a rocket. Everything blurred out then, I think because I thought about trying somehow to get to my body and obe. As I flew up the bright coloring of the surroundings faded out and grey cloud-like forms flew by... and then I basically woke up. It was great! I hope I can do this every night!!!
