First time I've died

Last night I dreamed that I died.  I was in a river with people I knew as friends, but whom I don't know in real life.  Suddenly I was attacked by an alligator.  I don't recall the attack, only that nearly half of my lower body was bitten off in the process.  I knew that I could survive the incident but in doing so my quality of life would be greatly reduced.  So, being in water at the time, I made the choice to drown myself instead of continue living as a handicap.  Knowing I would instinctively come up for air I asked one of my friends to hold me under until I drown.  I can remember being afraid, but still fully committed to killing myself.  When the time came that I absolutely needed air I struggled to get to the surface, but my friend did not allow it.  I very vividly recall breathing in the water!  Then everything went black.  I could not breath, but was not concerned because I knew I was already dead.  Then suddenly I took a gasp of air and opened my eyes.  Everything now had a vibrant blue color to it and was swaying as if even inanimate objects were alive.  But I was still on Earth.  I could see everything taking place in real time but could not interact.  I could neither open doors nor walk through them.  I had become trapped between life and afterlife.  Then a guide appeared to me.  He did not have any angelic qualities... just a regular man with regular clothes and a brown leather jacket.  He was in full color, had no blue tint to him.  He told me that I was trapped because I made the decision to take my own life.  He offered no saving solution.  Then I somehow gave him a vision of the circumstances surrounding my decision.  He suddenly became angry that I was trapped and told me that my decision was alright.  But he was also angry that he did not already know what happened, as if I had wasted his time.  He then stormed away, and I awoke!

Hmm, very interesting dream. I think I've only been killed in a dream once, if I remember correctly. Someone shot me I believe. Last year though, I had many dreams about murder- bloody, violent, murder. I wasn't the one getting killed though. And I wasn't the one doing the killing either
Death in dreams, I believe, is supposed to signify major change.  I guess, the more recurring the dreams are, the more drastic the change.

That was really fascinating Alpha.  Of course my first thought was past-life memory.  I know in some long ago cultures if you were handicapped in anyway you were ostracized or killed right off the bat when you were born like that.  

Wonder what happened to the friend that helped you die....does he now carry that through out all his lives?  very interesting indeed.  and does the stuck mean that one of your higherselves is out there waiting for the now higherself to help him..or did you do that just by having the dream...hmmmm.. *nays brain explodes*

I've died several times in dreams, but only once did I float out of my body and look down to see what was going on and another time I just went into a peaceful blackness.

I remember a few dreams from when I was very young. ( can't remember how old exactly )

But I do remember quite vividly still one dream where I had died. Me and my family were on a little island surrounded by a lake and for some reason we were being attacked by some sort of people that looked like our modern view of a viking. For some reason I was either told or just knew that the lake surrounding us would bring death. I don't remember how exactly, but I did end up in the lake and I died instantly.. it was weird because I seemed to be floating on the top with the stream, I could see my family sad that I was dead and I was sad too because of this... but I could not do anything.. I was just traveling along the stream but could still see through one angle.

Interesting dream you had though.. seems strange everything seemed to fall into place.. like finding out there was a mistake and then waking up.. almost like being given your life back.

Alpha, it is a rebirthing dream!  Shortly sometime after this dream did you make some major changes to your life?  If so, that would be why, with rebirth come many new things and out go many old things.  Blessings Red Wolf

I can't really say that I've gone through any major life changes, but the possibility is there.  In the past 3 days I have been offered two job positions in a field that I really want to go into.  That actually means quite a lot to me.  There could be something there!  Thanks RedWolf.  Not saying it's definately the answer... but it's possible!
