hello everyone,
This has been puzzling me for some time now. I´ve had a few dreams in my life where I dreamt that I was giving birth (yes I´m a woman). I´ve heard that it indicates some major changes in life, but I haven´t really noticed anything spectacular (It´s changing pretty rapidly all the time)..
2 nights ago I had a dream that I gave birth to this absolutley beautiful baby girl and found myself thinking...how could I have missed the whole 9 months??where are the baby clothes?what will my friends say??I felt happy, but also very alone (who could the father be   ??)??) At some point I got pretty lucid because I realized that it´s simply impossible for me to have the baby (in real life I´m nowhere close to getting it, nor am I planning in the next few years)..I started asking around what does this mean?what does this dream mean?...and.....I woke up.
Do any of you dream experts have any idea what could this baby thing mean???
Thank you for any help!

You

Have you been pregnant or had a baby before in the past? I think that's definitely a major consideration. If not, how would you know what it feels like, what's it looks like. Was the dream from your perspective or were you watching yourself? The latter seems more likely if you haven't had it before, since you would be judging it based upon what you've seen in others on TV, while the former is more likely if you've given birth before as you can emulate the feeling.

Either way... keep a memory of that kid and see if she shows up some time, sounds neat.

Not quite sure what Tyciol just said, but IMO.. you haven't had a child.

Perhaps all the dream is saying is, that you can go with whatever new thought that has come to mind?.....   Birth in a dream usually means "you" learning something new...you growing.. you expanding.  Does that make sense?  :P

In other words..you having a baby may not be so straighfoward...look at in in a sense of 'yourself' growing.

Hannah,
Nay's explanation is pretty much the same as I understand it too. I have birthing dreams fairly regular myself.

The more I learn about dreams, the more I'm discovering there really aren't any dream experts. More and more it's like a soul journey. The more I learn, the more there is to know. It certainly helps to read dream books. There are so many different angles about dreaming.

In "The Dreamer's Dictionary" by Barbara Condron, she asks:
A child born of the same sex signifies the new idea is a conscious one, easily identified. Noticing whose child this is will give you insight into the quality of the new idea.

Hello everyone!!!
thank you all for the wise answers! I'll go and do some thinking now.. ..oh and Tyciol i thought I put it clearly, but I{ll do it again: No, no baby before, no pregnacy, no giving birth not planning in the near future...I see myself giving birth or I watch myself from the distance, or both at the same time...split mind effcect..happens quite often..
Thank you once again!!

Hannah,
Thank you for your kind reply.

My last dream on this subject was several days ago. In the dream I was talking to my daughter telepathically (sp?). I can't remember if I threw in a telephone or not in the dream. Anyway, in this dream I had a newborn baby. I was somewhere else and I had forgotten if I had fed the baby. My daughter at the other end assured me I had. Cool huh!?  :)

I have had birthing dreams as well, I think Nay gave a pretty good answer,  as this explanation of growing, is one I have heard before.  I don't have these birthing dreams often, and I always feel weird waking up from them.  The dreams are so real, I can feel the baby kicking inside and feel my belly move, but if I do actually give birth, no pain. Very odd to me :)
