Title: Greyish/Dark dreams. Why?
Post by: cainam_nazier on July 08, 2004, 22:53:45
I know with me I do get that some times, usually if I am in places thta are really big and open.  The sky still registers as being blue when I look up but if I try ot look out in the distance it is usually really hazzy or grey.  I also just look at it as the "I don't know what's over there yet fog."  Kinda like "Fog of War" if you are a gamer at all.

Lynfer,
This is just a guess. I've gone through some transitional times in my life.Included in some of this transitional time were some visual oddities. The world looked dimmer there for awhile. I discovered if I covered one of my eyes, one half was shaded, the other half brightly, lit. Both eyes reacted the same way. There was also a time when I would look out my back door. I would always have the impression of the atmosphere or environment to my right(East),to have a gray cloud or darkness. It was almost like a veil covering that direction, but only when looking out this door. I never figured out what it meant. Your description reminds me of this same thing.

I wonder if you are perhaps right wisp. But it is more like a blanket covering my mind. It can even be a bright sunny day,but somehow this greyish fog keeps on existing.
I started noticing it more when I had dreams that scared me- It seemed to keep me sane. Somehow,I think, it eminates an energy of comfort and prevents me from ever being scared in my dreams or after my dreams when they are 'scary'.
Therefore, Now, I ven find it comforting to have 'any' dream even 'nightmares'.Perhaps it is a transition again- my notice of it increased in a time I was having a challenge of believes.
But wether it stays there or not- it doesn't bother me. I just try to understand why it is there.
Thank you both for sharing with me![:)]

Lynfer,
I believe more than one thing can be seen at the same
time. Whatever this gray or darkness is,it's real.
Couldn't it be a future? A future not yet brought to
a picture or sight? A comfort that everything will be
alright. Background can be a memory. Maybe a show of past,
present, and future. Gray comes to clarity.

I'm trying to understand more about simutaneous living.

Wisp- maybe a situation instead of a possible future.Dreams are more oriented towards individual situations if you observe carefully.
But, I wonder if it just that I am aware of the 'vision screen'.

Here's a problem I have. Well- it's not reaaly a problem. I 'need' to explore it.
99.9% or 100% of my dreams have a Greyish dark background. Like how it looks when it's about to rain or when it's 'almost' evening. There is some kind of dimness to every dream.
I can still see sunlight or bright colors somehow, but the backgroung is always the same.
I used to be a little afraid of it. Then I noticed that when it's raining(in real life)I like the way it looks. I started to rather like the background. As a matter of fact I prefer it now, or so i think.
My question is: Why do I always have this background in my dreams? Is it to comfort me(since now it does in real life and dreams)? If so, at first it didin't use to comfort me, so why? Is it perhaps related to the vision screen?
I hope I can spark some sage answers and advice from all of you. I welcome all replies and discussions.[:)]
