Manix,
This dream book sounds familiar. It sounds like a good book to get a hold of (I collect dream books).

I have tried interpreting dreams by color, I failed. It seems that the color is an accent in dreams. More to emphasize something in a dream perhaps? Like a clue of a murky color suggests something different than a bright and vivid color. A dull or murky color is work in progress, to acheive a more advanced point. Plus, it's what the colors means to you in some circumstances. I have a dream book that states the value of the color is showing the level of dreaming you are on. A white dream for instance, is a high level spiritual dream. Regular color suggests material or earth plane location of a dream. So many ideas about color is out there. Another example, if you see a color you don't especially like, the hidden clue in the dream may be about something you don't like.I rarely have a black and white dream, but these may be the ones I don't remember. Black and white dreams have their own mystery about them.

Your vivid dreams sounds wonderful. It sounds like you are in a "good place". You may be seeing things on a positive and realistic level. Other words, in a beautiful way (your life, your home). I visited your area a few years ago. It's as beautiful there as you discribed. In fact, my youngest child was conceived there. I thought about naming her Virginia [:)].

There are still some colors that I'm puzzled about. Grey and silver are the main ones. I often see grey clouds obscurring blue sky. I know they symbolize something but never can pinpoint the problem.

Never-the-less, this books focus is incubating dreams. Forever it seems, I have been troubled by one symbol. Tornadoes.

For about 7 years now I've had these dreams. Thanks to some added help from the book I managed to overcome my panic when I saw them last night. I stood my ground and demanded they tell me what they were and why they were there. The answer I recieved made no sense at all.
They told me they were in my dreams by no fualt of my own. Instead, it was my sisters fualt they plagued me. They were upset with her! But why trouble me for so long? The answer had little obvious meaning. So, I thought about my sister a bit and hre's what I came up with.
My relationship with my sister is tense. She's the sort of person that is happy and cheery when you don't stand in her way, but will turn into a nasty beast if you defy, confront or annoy her in the least little bit. There have been numerous times I would have loved to break her nose just to get her to shut up or rather, to see her bleed.
But seeing us fight upsets my parents very much. They keep saying that when they are gone, each other is all we will have to depend on. I hate to upset my parents, or even disappoint them becuase of all the wonderful things they've done for me. It is with great reluctance I turn the other other cheak each time my sister throws her selfish fits.
There is an unspoken resentment between us. Most definantly from me of her. What she sees and feels for other people is alien to me. How someone can speak with such spiteful malice to me one moment then cheer up and expect me to forget the matter enirely and give her whatever it is she wants is incredible. Perhaps that uneasy tension is what the tornadoes represent. Something that I have tried honestly to clear away time and time again but she keeps bringing back up. Her determintion not to understand those around her is a massive obstruction that stands between us.
From the time we could both talk our relationship has been uneasy. Me bending to her will so that my parents did not know we had fought. The only fights that occured were when I decided to try and stand my ground. My parents always sided with her and encouraged me to just ket her have her way.

I've never really thought about the tornadoes having a connection with her before, but now in the light of what they've shown me they seem like they will be a permanent fixture of my dream scape. A dissappointmant for sure, and now I will be even more aware of the unease I have when if her vicinity.

Perhaps I should talk to the tornadoes again. Maybe I've blown their meaning out of proprotion.

I started a couple of weeks ago a technique on using the chakras in dreaming from the Tibetan perspective.

You are supposed to concentrate on a red letter A in the throat chakra and this will give a very pleaseant dream. After a couple of hours you are supposed to wake up again and See a small white ball on the brow chakra. This should give another sort of dream(intellect? I forget). After another couple of hours you should concentrate on the heart chakra, visualizing some tibetan word that sounds like "HUNG". This is supposed to give brave dreams-seems to work somewhat. Last but not lease you are suppsed to see a liitle black ball by the sexual chakra and this will give wild, raging dreams. The idea is a buildup throughout the night to where you can handle more all the time. They give special breathing exercises and show how you are supposed to lie(left, right on your back) for each of the four parts and suggest laying a bit higher by using more pillows to heighten lucidity. I think this all helps to increase at least my dream awareness and most likely gives me dreams of the specific types in the preferred order they are suggesting in the book. The thing with lucidity is that it occurs more often early mornings and in wilder dreams so this system should increase lucidity occurence somewhat. I have had a couple lucid dreams on the last part and more aggressive, wild ones as well(not sexual- despite concentration on the sexual chakra).

As my chakras are pretty active through previous training it is not too hard to get them feeling warm by concentrating on them so I guess they just keep on being warm afterwards from themselves and the focus of the energy body is then on that part of the body. It seems logical and they say it has an unbroken lineage for 17000 years and has worked for thousands of people so I will continue using this along with NEW technique from Robert Bruce and hope for good results in lucid dreaming and OBEs
A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.

Manix,
Gray clouds are a mystery. I've seen them in the night sky. It could mean something is covered or obscure, yet to be known, future behind it. Why the color gray? A mix of white and black (and it's color meanings)? Or it could be relating to a black and white image, one thought being another level, or a level in between. That associated with materialism.More possibilities maybe.

Silver may represent gifts (after the clearing). Silver is often associated with the moon or lunar. Therefore, night or dark time, or power.

One of my last dreams had a funnel cloud and tornado in it. It was my first time seeing this in a dream. Before this, I thought of it being chakra activity. It can also mean disturbance I guess. I'm observing what this means in my life right now. It so far it has meant disturbance for me. Someone had a funnel cloud in a dream, but I don't recall any mention of difficulty following it. So, maybe it has to do with chakra activity, and it depends on the person, how the message or funnel plays out? I haven't had a clear dream since this one to help me understand more, or feel at more ease. The woman in my dream who took off into a storm, spoke of getting out of school and continuing her education.

Hmmm...At least your learning early about these kind. There are many of these kinds of people in the world. This kind is to be avoided the best you can.I have a friend who actually causes a little disruption with new acquaintances to see the person's reaction,in order to screen them out of his life. If the person doesn't get upset (forgiving), he continues the relationship. If the person gets out of sorts and has a tantrum, he breaks off ties with the person. For you, since it's your sister, just keep a distance the best you can. Things will get better for you. It's too bad your sister is the way she is.

Manix,
Here's some more info on tornadoes which came in to me just now.Hope it helps.

"Emotions and urges against which we feel powerless, and which may become obsessive. See storm, wind" Storm says: "Anger, emotional outburst; feeling battered by events or emotions. Storm is approaching: a sense of difficult times ahead; anger or passion building up. Idioms: bend with the storm; storm in a teacup; take by storm; weather the storm." Wind says:"The movement of consciousness or mind; the hidden influences in our life; ideas and conceptions which move us. Flying with the wind."

"Hmmm...At least your learning early about these kind. There are many of these kinds of people in the world."

Not early enough apparently. Had I known this 20 years ago perhaps I could have avoided a lot of grief. Controling my own temper is getting harder and harder the more I try to keep a patient and open mind with her. Taking a deep breath and keeping my mouth shut seems to be helping. Also, keeping myself from whining about her so much to other people is helping. I have to tell my self, that if I keep out of her buisness, she'll keep out of mine. At least the tornadoes have not made an appearance since. Her appearance in my dreams is more frequent now, and less hostile and more decieving. Last night she outright tried to tell me I wasn't dreaming! I knew very well I was, who knows where this will lead now?

Manix, I sympathize totally! I'm not related (thank GOD!) but I have to work with a gal with that same mentality. Do things her way, and I mean exactly and all's well. Cross her and you have made a dangerous enemy. This one even types out extensive "rules of conduct" for our Christmas party! Of course, one year I did manage to get a bit of my own back. Her rules had everything orchestrated, especially how many presents there would be. So I slipped in an extra. Oh, it was sweet! [:D] Of course, the next year her rules specified that no extra presents were permitted. [|)]

As to dreams and color, all of mine are in color. I do notice that the tone of the dream seems to reflect what my mood is at the time. If it's a bit of a "downer" dream, then the tones, while natural, will be muted and not as bright.

I picked up a new book this week called The Dreamers Way by Rosemary Ellen Guiley. I just started reading last night and read something about interepting dreams with the chakras. Each Chakra has a different color so you look at the colors in your dream. You match the color to the chakra and think about its meaning and application in the dream.

I really hadn't intended to try this until I read the book, but last night I became very lucid a the start of a dream and was trying to think of something to do. I remember what I had read about colors and chakras so I stopped to take a look at my surroundings. I didn't understand what I was looking at until I wrote it down this morning.

I saw beautiful green Appalachian Mountains (my home) with the blue green haze near the top and lush green foliage near the base. The valley surrounding the mountian range was splashed with yellow and red colors like autumn. Above this scene was a stunning blue sky that deepens overhead into a purple.

When I reread the chapter on chakras I could only compare the scene with the most obvious speculation. It represented the primary chakras I had been thinking about. I'm not sure if it meant anything other than that though.

Has anyone else tried to interpret dream by the colors?
