Mindfulness and lucid dreaming

A question for more experienced people: Does practicing mindfulness in your daily life increase the frequency of your lucid dreams?  By "mindfulness" I mean being as aware as possible in the present moment.  That's basically practicing lucidity...and it makes sense to me that if one becomes more mindful in their waking life then that will carry over into their dreams and increase their normal level of lucidity, thus prompting more moments of "Oh...I'm dreaming."

Makes sense to me as well. I don't practice "mindfulness" very often and i can't recall it helping me with lucidity. But doing a reality check is basically "mindfulness" so it should help. And reality checks have helped me with lucidity :)

I've actually been considering that notion myself lately.
I see no reason why you wouldn't have more lucid dreams if you practiced mindfulness all the time.  :)

IMO, if you're really being mindful quite often during the day to where it becomes more and more normal, lucid dreaming will start happening at some point whether you expect it to or not. I have a number of LD's, but I've never really tried to. It's a side-effect of meditation.

Awesome.  I thought so.  Actually, to me, the physical world seems like the perfect place to practice mindfulness and increase your normal level of awareness because it's objective, there's a lot to be aware of that doesn't, in and of itself, depend on the level of awareness you already have.  It's really hard to do that in the non-physical because it's subjective and you have nothing to base your awareness in that won't change and be confusing and lead to a loss of focus.  So the physical is kind of like a training grounds in which to master your mind :)  I posted about that view of the physical somewhere else too.
