Hi everyone, oddly my account got deleted while the site was down (or something wrong with my comp  :-D) so i cant see what i got responses for the questions i asked last time   :-(

So, back to the topic, I am having serious trouble lucid dreaming or controlling dreams (however you put it). Iv tried all the ways people recommended e.g.: pinching self so when you pinch yourself in your dreams wont hurt, the unstable text thing, taking cat naps, saying to yourself i am going to controll my dreams while going to sleep, and i have failed miserably at the way that Frank guy said (closing eyes and for a few minutes you should see flashes of lights, images, voices and so on).

And I'm wondering if anyone has any easy or other things  could do to help me lucid dream or any ways of improving the things i tried

Thank you

We suffered a slight forum crash about 3 - 4 weeks ago.  The forums were rolled back to how they were on June 21st... at that point, you had not made an account yet.

Give that a quick read.  It's a great list of things you can do to help you have Lucid Dreams.

And then you can read http://unlimitedboundaries.ca/2010/09/01/how-i-convert-a-lucid-dream-into-an-astral-projection/ to get some kind of idea on how to convert that Lucid Dream into an Astral Projection.  :)

Enjoy!

Syke

as long as you keep your reality checks going constantly... after a couple of weeks you'll just slip in to the lucid dreaming mind... you also should keep a dream journal. since i stopped keeping a dream journal i havent had a lucid dream in 2 years

I'll echo Syke and say I think a dream diary is important. The more you are aware of your dreams the more likely you are to become aware within them.

Even if you only remember small fragments at first, before long you'll remember more and more. Dont reach for your diary as soon as you wake up, lie in the position you wake in until you've remembered as much as you can. Then turn onto your other side and lie like that for a while, it can bring back memories of dreams you had when you were lieing on that side.

When you get a fair bit of material in your diary you can look through it for recurring things that can act as signs that you're dreaming. For example, there was a period where I was occasionally having dreams where I was eating tuna. In real life I'm a vegitarian so I added tuna to my list of dream signs. I would repeatedly think throughout the day, 'tuna means I'm dreaming, tuna means I'm dreaming', with a sense of importance that I had to remeber it. It got to the point that whenever I saw tuna I would imediately question whether I was dreaming.

Most of my best recurring dream signs are things from my past that are no longer present in my life. Houses I used to live in, pets I used to have, I still dream about smoking weed even though I dont anymore..etc

Make sure to berate yourself whenever a dream sign doesnt make you lucid and resolve to notice it next time.

It might seem like a lot of work at first but getting to know your dreams can be quite rewarding.
