Help me decipher the somewhat mythical content of this dream

In the beginning, it showed a circular object that was an ancient relic or artifact of some kind.Someone (not me) picked it up.The object then turned into orange peels, and decomposed very quickly.This was what apparently happened when most people picked it up.

 Then, when I picked up the artifact, and it suddenly "came to life".It turned into a golden wheel, like a mandala or a gear.I was given the ability to channel the power of god, or lifeforce through the artifact.


Fascinating archetypal imajery, but I'm not sure what to make of it.

What's your 2c?

Perhaps it was saying that you have the will, knowledge, power, and tools to turn things to your benefit.... finally?

Seems like a very postive dream to me and you are alot more postive than others see you.

MMM lettme see. Ill tell you my process for decoding dreams by taking you throught the steps i take.

1 write down all you remember, from colors to smells, to sounds.  everything helps.  you have done this.

2 break it down and compare things to what you know about that thing.

Part 1
  a)Curcular ancient relic.  Well its pretty much either just that or it means
     somthing important, grand, some old knowledge, somthing old and
     valuble.
  b)some one that is not you picked it up/tried to take it.  That means that
     some one is trying to take or get this whatever it is.
  c)when another tried to pick it up it turned into an orange, which
     decomposed instantly.  The orange could represent health, or life.  the
    decompositioning could mean that the health will go bad or life will end.

Summary(in my opinion part one means)  There is some old knowledge that others try to grasp but it ends up in the end or they are not learning this knowledge.

Part 2

a)You picked it up and it turned into somthing gold.  This could mean that
  when you get this thing its good for you/its a benefit.
b)You were given the power to channel god through this thing.  This
  that this is a great power or somthing that you get from this thing.

3 now that weve broke it down, its time to sum it up.  NOTE: This is not a promotion to be a christian, this is just how it looks to me.

There is an old peice of knowledge(bible) that others dont learn from so there lives/health is not prolonged.  But if you learn from the bible it will turn out to be a good thing for you.  And god will help you channel energy/become stronger/live longer.

There is some old knowledge or old event that you know of and you know nobody learns from.  Maybe you need to learn this lesson or you will die quickly like the rest.  And by learning this lesson or knowledge, youll become stronger in life.

Thanks for some cool replies.

I do have a bible actually.I'm more "spiritual" than "religious", if you know what I mean.I find that the bible seems to be so steeped in metaphor, and it's unfortunate that some people can't see deeper into it than the literal sense.This is just a feeling-I don't know much about the bible.I'm actually more interested in sacred literature as a whole, than any segment of it.

"but it ends up in the end that they are not learning this knowledge...".This statement strikes me.It reminds me of how the vast majority of people who claim to be religious just have no clue as to the unfathomably  infinite depth of the mind of god.Their image of this being seems to be far too puny to be suitable by any means.People have no clue what they're talking about (neither do I, and neither does anyone), mainly because they have severely limiting belief structures that actually prevents them from delving furthur into the subject.It makes me realise that traditional religious structure is incomplete and partial at best.

I'm eliminating those limiting structures one by one.I guess my greater self approves.

No offense Wronski, but I think you go way too much into detail in the analysis of dreams (or at least: this dream).

Indeed the 'theme' of the dream is about empowerment, or special gifts, that sorts. But that doesnt mean every detail in the dream has a specific meaning.

Ill give a somewhat clearer example of what I mean:
if you have a chase dream, and you are being chased wearing a blue shirt, and you are being chased in the forest the forest and the color of the shirt probably have no significant meaning. This is just a background to which your dreams play out. Your tshirt needs a color, you need a location as well. In essence, this dream would 'mean' the exact same as being chased troughout the city, in a red shirt.

Hence i seriously doubt detailed symbolics apply to dreams. Your mind has to give form to concepts, the way they turn out is not always relevant to 'a deeper meaning'.

I totally agree about me going into alot of detail.  I really dont go into that much detail on my own dreams.  Its just that I know that some dreams do have meaning to them and Im not Jason, so I dont know exactly what these things mean to him.  Thats what a thing that helps decipher dreams that may mean somthing, is to take parts of the dream and think about what the items or scenes mean to you, how they apply to your life.  So in this case, Jason thought it meant somthing, so I looked at it and tried to see what symbolism I could pull out and simplify for him.  Like I have said in a couple of other posts in this forum, im sure not all dreams mean somthing.  Ive had dreams that had nothing to do with me or my life.  They were just plain weird.
