Title: HOW do Dreams Work?
Post by: Manix on June 23, 2004, 11:28:46
" It's almost like our dreaming is connecting to what is REAL, which is our spiritual selves, and when we wake we are really in the illusion of reality again, having forgotten our trip to other worlds."
"I think that when people consciously and continuously learn to OBE, they are experiencing realms and states of mind usually reserved for the dead."

Now THAT made my head hurt. I couldn't help but get this sickening notion that it is really WE who are dead and the so called spirits who are living...

You both could very well be right.

I don't view the waking life and astral as separate exixtences but points on a continuum.
The degree of awareness of the shift in our conscious focus of perception is what determines what we remember (ie. perceive) as o9ur reality.

A small degree or no awareness would leave us the waking life as the foremost perception of reality and only a little recollection of the perceptual awreness of the points along the continuum.
A high level of awareness would allow us to have (conscious) OBEs and the distinction of the waking life and astral as the foremost perception of reality gets more and more muddled.

Our awareness of the truth that we are conscious focii in the all around existence  and that the strength of the focus determines the level of consciousness. The level of consciousness and awareness of the perceptual field from the focus's point of view determine what we see as reality.

The above also means that during a projection nothing really is projected out of the body, only the perpective changes and with that the perceived reality.

All of the levels, planes etc are just resonant positions of the perceptual focus and thus seem like distinct realities.

Considering the conscious level of most people manifested on Earth then the statement "... that it is really WE who are dead and the so called spirits who are living..." is somewhat accurate. That is how I was meaning it when posting. After raising my consciousness and becoming more aware I definitely feel like I was dead before and only started living when my consciousness is high.

My increased knowledge of the spiritual nature of mankind has definitely made me feel more alive. I don't question the meaning of life because, for ME, i understand it, even if i cannot explain it to someone else. When i was younger and confused and spiritually "lost" i often felt and experienced myself as the "living dead." I really truly felt dead to happy emotions, experiences, and absolutely no hope. it has been a grueling life to twist my thoughts from negative to positive, but then i see the millions of people who never make that transition at all, and my heart goes out to them, for they are dead too, and will die and return and have made no spiritual progress at all. Sharing spiritual knowledge to those who ask, even with one person at a time, can help them find their true selves, and that is perhaps the most important thing in all the world.

Life/death is a continuum. The two are blended. It's a matter of how it's perceived as the approach of physical reality comes in. Even before this point there is the issue of age. Do people age and get sick because the people around them are doing the same?

If you take the mental attitude of an alien, the planet Earth is new to you? People talk ritualistic about the wave/era of physical as we know and accept it.It doesn't mean you have to. I purposely try not to understand other people's concepts about things. That way I can focus on my own.If an idea fits for me, I try it out for size. I would like to think  our own perceptions keep going. How another perceives it doesn't matter.Life and health for me, death on the side. [:)]  I may have died already? How do we know what is ...is? Death is not the enemy, people with bad ideas are.

Think like an alien!  haha

I'm still trying to figure out exactly how dream characters, objects, places and things are structured and formed by the unconscious mind.
Often I am trying to explain to dream characters what they are really made up of but am not sure myself.

To my understanding, every night when we dream a part of our energy body disconnects and soars through the astral, reconnecting with our higher selves and mingling with the grid of thought-energy patterns that encircle the globe (and probably all worlds in the multiverse). I'm still not positive as to the importance of this event, but i do know that it is very important. It's almost like our dreaming is connecting to what is REAL, which is our spiritual selves, and when we wake we are really in the illusion of reality again, having forgotten our trip to other worlds. Just like the Matrix, except that after we pop the pill there isn't a hellish existense, but rather a wonderful one. I think that when people consciously and continuously learn to OBE, they are experiencing realms and states of mind usually reserved for the dead.
