Title: How gain more control in a lucid dream
Post by: cobalt on January 16, 2005, 11:56:41
Recently when im asleep i bacome aware for a short time that im asleep(i think becose my mind is full of ideas about APing etc, im excited becose im new to it all), then i usually try to wake my mind up (do some math, remember my personal data etc), but it usually dont helps, i continiue to dream after few seconds, and forget that im asleep.

1)Can i take control in such situation, or its just a part of a dream(like im dreaming that im aware of my dream)

2)What is the best way to "kick" your mind "on", and avoid dreaming.

I think this link would help.  Searching the forum can sometimes give you a faster answer than waiting for people to just give it to you. Trust me you ll feel more proud when you read it for your-self :) (no offense in any way) Lucid dreams are fun.

Hi cobalt,

Dreaming occurs naturally, and to my knowledge, you can't avoid it. If what you mean by "kick your mind on" is lucid dreaming then there are practice techniques that may help you achieve lucidity and hopefully, the control you mention.

There have been some similar questions in this forum as was mentioned above, and a forum search might reveal some worthwhile information. Also, there is a website worth reading through. It is the website of the Lucidity Institute. You don't need to spend any money there, just read over the site and you may pick up some advice. Also, there is a book on lucid dreaming by Stephen LaBerge which is an informative read, with techniques to achieve lucidity. The website is: http://www.lucidity.com and may be of further help in your search.

Very best,
Nick

As i undertood, you ar helping me getting lucid dreams.
Its when youre fully aware of your dream...
I wasnt interested in lucid dreams, but last week almost every night i become aware that im dreaming...but it stays only as long as im concentrating on repeating in my mind that im dreaming(even if i repeat it but not concentrate on it i continiue to dream), so is your suggestions about how to keep lucid dreaming or how to induce them.
And the state when i realize im dreaming is already a lucid dream, or i still need to gain more control/ make my mind more awake, so it dosnt drifts in a dream-movie again?
This sounds good : http://www.lucidity.com/NL62.FoolsGuide.html ;)

Btw, im waking up and geting pre obe(havyness, vibrations, feeling of like beeing pushed in some direction) sensations, mostly when im half awake.
Yesterday i clearly saw aura for firs time, so i had no doubt it was aura.
Strange week...
