Title: LD's and being attacked in them
Post by: ragnarokwolf on January 10, 2005, 18:10:05
Hi all, I'm new to these forums.  So I'll give a little background on my LD experiences.  I have on average about 3 really solid, fully lucid dreams a week, and a countless number of semi-lucid dreams a week.  I know I could have more lucid dreams a week if I want to but a lot of times I just want to rest and have a good night's sleep.  If it wasn't for that little thing called work I probably would.  I've also noticed that all my LD's happen at around the same time of my dream cycle, usually an hour or two before I normally wake up.  They also occur if I happen to fall asleep in the day time, so then again I'm not in a fully deep sleep.

Up until about a month ago, about 1 out of every 3 of my LD's I would get attacked as soon as I became lucid.  First off, my LD's happen one of two ways.  I either have a normal dream where my lucidity rises and I gradually become fully lucid.  I've never been attacked in this kind of LD.  The other way it's almost as if I project into the dream world, usually 90 percent of the time it's from a B&W dream.  The B&W dream starts shimmering and color starts coming in, almost as if I was underwater and coming up to the surface.  As soon as I enter this state I'm fully lucid, there really is no transition from non-lucidity to lucidity and I can't remember anything of the dream before except that it was B&W.

As I come through this veil.  Something starts attacking me.  Usually it's a small little creature about the size of a ferret or rat that immediately latches on to me and starts biting me.  I remember one of the first times it happened it seemed to hurt when it bit me.  Then I remembered, "hey this is a dream, I can't feel pain" and the pain went away.  Against better judgment I usually grabbed the creature and break it's neck , or throw it against the wall or smash it.  Then I get out of wherever I'm at and have a normal LD.

Sometimes the thing that would attack me looked like that old witch from the movie, "The Dark Crystal."  These attacks never really scared me, they were more of an annoyance.  After talking to some people and reading around on the net, I was told to confront whatever it was that was attacking me.  So the next time I had an LD and this happened, the old witch looking thing was whipping me as soon as I became lucid.  So I grabbed her and asked her what she wanted from me.  She said, "I want you to die."  I'll admit at first this kind of freaked me out and I almost woke up.  Then I calmed down and told her that's stupid I can't die in here.  I woke up after that.  I've noticed in LD's if I have too much of a shift of awareness into the lucid dream I wake up.

The next time I had a chance to confront her in a LD I asked the same question again, "What do you want from me?"  She replied again that she wanted me to die.  I told her that didn't make any sense, and I held on to her for a while, while she struggled.  Her appearance then changed into a younger woman's face, not overly beautiful or ugly just solemn looking.  She then said that she hated me.  I asked her what for?  She said "because the caveman destroyed my kind."  This again through me for a loop, and surprised me which caused too much of a shift of awareness into the dream causing me to wake up.  I since have not been attacked in a dream or been able to confront this thing in a LD again, even though I have tried.

It all made almost perfect sense, until i read this: "She said "because the caveman destroyed my kind.""

Sometimes those creatures are some aspect of ourself. It's good to have deep dialogue with them to find out what they mean (if they don't start to give out nonsense answers). But this reply what she gave is over my knowledge

Maybe next time when you meet her, ask her: "Is there any way how can i help you? I would really like to help you, but you see - my death is probably not helping you with your problem". Or smt similar. Just prepare some questions to ask from her to find out more.

I agree with Cyrus on how to deal with this person.  As for the ferrett, there are gatekeepers at the entrance to certain parts of the dream time.  It sounds like the ferrets were totems that belonged to the gatekeepers.  They simply test your ability before allowing entrance to certain parts of the dream realms.  I suspect you are drawing these things to you because you have things of a personal nature to deal with before you can enter those spaces.  Deal with them, and voila, you get to enter unhindered.
