Sometimes when I am on the edge of sleep images appear before my eyes, even if they are open. But it more so happens when I am actually awake and up. They flash in front of my eyes in a split second, but I am left with vivid memories of certain images.
Do other people experience this?

When I wake up in the mornings I tend to experience similar things. I'll get a crystal clear image of something for a few seconds, and like you said, sometimes even after I've already opened my eyes. There's something unique about that state between sleeping and waking.
