I have a decent memory of my dreams. I would say one per night all though they're not very vivid. I have had this weird experience happen to me on a few occasions. Right before I wake up from my dream there's a loud noise that sounds like wind in my ears and sometimes it's a very loud ringing. Does anyone know why this happens or what it is?

Research "Hypnogogic Sounds".

I've heard so many thing while waking up, falling asleep, or even just meditating.  Everything from gunshots, explosions, glass breaking, screaming, etc...

That along with seeing "strange things" all the time... you just kind of get used to it.

You can generate any sound that can be heard clearly a couple of secs after you wake. This is easy once proficient.

Don't worry about the noise, with it appearing you are more in touch with the NP than without. It's a good thing.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.

Thanks guys. This is very interesting. I'll try to use my awareness of these sounds to lucid dream. :-)
