projection into dream world

the other night i was between waking and sleeping and i tried to get out of bed next thing i know my legs are coming out of my body they go back in and i get up so last night i tried to do it intentionally and kind of had success only thing i projected into my dream world
insted of the physical or astral world. i had my eyes semi open and could see physical objects but when my head got out it turned into a lucide dream nothing amazing just a dream why? how do i continue to do this (having trouble doing it again) and how do i project into the astral realm not a lucid dream. i felt the vibrations and heard static whats the static all about.
