So, in interesting than happened last night. I got my full on LD like i usually do, the thing was though.. My eyes were wide open when it happened. I was laying in bed just watching the energy fly around than i enter an LD and came out of it by choice. With my eyes wide open. Weird right? What's y'alls take on this?

I would never have thought of phasing with my eyes open.

I'm gonna give it a try because I can visualize a lot better with my eyes open. I find it hard sometimes to picture anything clearly over the blackness.

If you find yourself doing this often I'd suggest pointing a video camera at your face to check if your body blinks while you're LDing. Going too long without blinking isnt good for your eyes.

Our "sight" is one of the things that locks us into this reality frame.  To unlock your consciousness from "here", you need to shut down that connection and we begin that process by closing our eyes to stop the flow of visual-data to our consciousness.

I was watching some Doctor Who the other night, my gf and I were sitting on our couch and I guess I was nodding off... I had a brief flash of images relating to some stuff I did earlier in the evening, yet it was all seemlessly meshed with the episode we were watching.

My guess is that you nodded off for a split second.

Being able to visualize ( for some people ) with your eyes open is a lot of work, but in the long run it's better for you. ^_^

I tried phasing with my eyes open once. Without blinking. I had to stop when tears started streaming down my face... :-D

I'm unsure what kind of answer you're looking for here, Addict.
I have a feeling that any "normal" answer won't be good enough for you.

What do YOU think it was?

Lexy

I sometimes meditate with my eyes open but in the dark...was it dark when you did it?

That's why i'm asking, i haven't encountered anything like this before so...

Yes it was

it's actually a higher form of meditation, monks do this in caves. keep looking into the energy & a gateway can open...

Tried it last night in bed.

Just lay there with my eyes out of focus staring at the wall observing at all the energy swirling round.

Noticed a slight change in consciousness. Too small to describe. Caught glimpses of a black thing creeping up from the bottom of the bed.

Tried visualising stuff but that broke the altered state of consciousness.

Started thinking about blinking and my eyes drying out too much so I quit.

Maybe I'll try it in a nice steamy bath sometime so I wont need to worry about my eyes drying.

I was just watching how beautiful energy was moving around when it happened

Well you never mentioned it was dark.  ;)
That's the same as having your eyes closed... it shuts down your physical eyes.  That's why we close our eyes, to shut them down and stop receiving any visual input.

astraladdict

Couldn't you do the same in day light though? Phasing is phasing ;P

You could.  But it's hard because the refreshing of your visual screen (what you "see") is done automatically.

For example, if you stare out into an unchanging scene you'll slowly begin to notice your vision "fading" away.  This is the beginning process of your physical eyes shutting down.  But, once something in your field of vision moves, it resets the visual screen... that resetting *can* be ignored, but it's *REAALLLLLLLY* hard.  Our ability to 'see' is one of the major factors that keeps our consciousness locked and focused towards this physical reality.

Give it a shot... stare at yourself in a mirror.  Try not to blink though, because blinking also resets the visual screen... and watch how parts of your face will begin to disappear.   Then try to watch something that's moving, like traffic... and see how much harder it is to get "stuff" to disappear.  :)

I've actually tried that a bunch of times, but i've been doing research recently on OEM, i'll make a post of it... idk what section to put it in though u_u

And what have you noticed from your attempts?

astraladdict

Attempts at OEM or attempts at phasing with eyes open?

I'm assuming you meant that you've tried the 'staring into the mirror' thing... how'd that go?

LOL From doing so out of boredom and curiosity, i would come up with a feel of an alternate reality on the other side, and everything moving around, energy increasing. Phasing with eyes open i do all the time actually, on the bus ride home since it's about 45 min. i would just stare out of the window and phase.

So just to clarify things... the phasing you're referring to is the "perceiving" kind.
Like what Bruce Moen teaches... you don't SEE any of it.  You perceive it?
Like recalling a memory.  Seeing the memory replay out... you don't SEE it, but you perceive everything about it.

I just wanna clarify that we're on the same page here.

It's as if i'm actually there, controlling everything etc

Sounds like the "perceiving" kind to me.

In any case, I see through you Addict.  ;)
