Lucid Dream to OBE?

It sounds like you experienced a conscious OBE. Now that you know what it feels like to project from a lucid dream, and the fact that you go lucid every night, you have yourself a very reliable personal technique for projection! At this point I recommend reading Astral Dynamics, if you haven't already.

Hi Danny-boy-

I've been trying to project for two years and have not had success. What method do you use to get into a lucid dream? I could use some pointers. I was only able to do it once so far deliberately. I think going from lucid dream to OBE would be the best way to get out of my body because of the fear barrier I need to overcome.

Hello EndeWiggen, Sorry I have not replied, I havent had much time to visit the boards.  I don't normally use a technique to Lucid Dream as it comes naturally to me, but when I am not up to Lucid Dreaming I would repeat the words "am I asleep or am I awake" while I am awake, i would repeat this a few time and then check that I was awake. I would do this a few times a day and after a while I would start asking myself it in my dreams.  Sometimes I couldn't prove to myself I was in a dream but I was Lucid.  Lately I have been scared of going from a Lucid Dream to an OBE because if I use the Rolling Over Technique (Nice name isn't it :p ) I am scared i will suddenly wake as i'm rolling over and make my body to roll over and end up hitting my head on the bed side table.   I am sorry again for not replying.

Hi guys, I have had exactly the same experiences! The first and only time I have completed successful conscious exit was through converting the Lucid dream into an OOBE. When you are lucid, just try and focus back to your body and keep willing yourself to rise and burst out of your body.

A few days ago I was sleeping on my front, which I usually do but this is annoying when I am on the verge of projection because I believe it is easier to project whilst on your back. I feel the vibrations but just can't get out of my body because I am not in a "tension-free" position. And when I try to change positions, I lose the vibrations.

I do find it rather confusing sometimes during this state as to whether I can feel my astral body moving or my real physical body is actually moving. Just like with the "Roll-over" exit technique. I stopped because I wasn't sure whether it was my astral or real body doing the rolling!! And I thought I was going to fall off the bed!! So I stopped...

I think I have to work on opening my astral eyes so I can see what the hell is going on...

I was having a dream which became a Lucid Dream as normal, and I was feeling bored, so I imagined myself lying in bed and then i rolled over but I started to think what if my phisical body was rolling over because that is what it felt like, but i decided I would only smack my head and wake up if it was my phisical body moving so i carried on.  When i rolled over I fell off the bed towards the floor and floated suddenly to the ceiling, I couldn't see too well and thought i should go explore the house but when i tried to leave my room all i could see was black so i just thought of my body and woke up as normal.

After thinking about this for a while i went back to sleep and quickly found myself in another Lucid Dream and I was eager to try again but I was very restricted in movement and it felt like my head was stuck but the rest of me was floating around.

Anyways the question I am asking is do you think it was a Dream/Lucid Dream or could it have been a real OBE because I can't tell.
