There is two i know you probably already heard but i will just say it anyway. The first one is keep a journal. Write every little detail in your dreams. so your mind will keep remembering them. Which gets you closer to the lucid dreaming. My second idea is to repeat through out the day "am i dreaming". im mean at any point that u think about it. and it will be stuck in your mind and hopefully you will say it during a dream. well though are my ideas.

another thing you can do is set your watch to beep every hour-or even half an hour. Whenever that happens ask yourself if you're dreaming. Also, before you go to sleep, write down on a piece of paper: "Tonight I will dream, and tomorrow I will remember every detail of the dream." five times. You can even try writing "Tonight I will have a lucid dream."

Here is a great website to check out: http://www.lucidity.com/ There are a number of techniques that you can learn to help promote lucid dreams. The website also references other materials that may interest you as well. [:)]

It's so simple.  Forget anything complicated.  If anyone on this forum gives you a complicated response, disregard it.  They may give you a perfectly good reason or example because of their own profound experience.... CRAP!  I take no credit for this, it is Robert Bruce's method.  While awake, 10, 20, 100 times a day, look at your hands.  When you look at your hands regularly it becomes a habit.  When it becomes a habit, you do it in your dreams as well.  But when you do it in your dreams, your hands melt away.  Convince yourself (by looking at your hands) that when they melt away, you are dreaming.  Then, each time you look at your hands, they either melt away (dream) or they dont (reality).  If this is your mentality then each time your hands melt you will realize you are dreaming, and lucidity will occur.  Now listen... people will give you so many different scenerios that work for them... don't pay attention.  Do this technique and you will succeed.  All those who say that theirs works "from experience" and to not listen to Bruce's illogical idea on this subject.... THEY ARE WRONG!  Flat out, no nonsense, completely wrong.  They'll say they're right, but it doesn't make them right, they're still wrong.  You want lucid dreams.  Do the hand technique... IT WILL WORK!  Have fun lucid dreaming!

Hey The AlphaOmega,

I love that method! So are you saying every time you look at your hands pretend they are melting and tell your self your dreaming?

is it possible to not be able to dream? cause since i was very little i never remembered ever having any dreams or even nightmares

wisp

kairi,
That's an interesting question. The answer is variable.[:)]
I can remember very clearly at the age of seven having a remarkable dream (wish I had written it down). At the time, I was so impressed with this dream that I became determined to have more. I recall NOT having dreams at that time. After that, I forget what happened (with dreams).

Years later, I was reading a book on chemical dependency and alcoholism. The book said people hooked on drugs and alcohol do not dream. I took this to be true and thought to myself, how awful(and glad it's not me)! But, thinking back now to the time of reading the book's statement. I don't remember having any dreams? This is odd, because at that time I must have had dreams to think how awful not to dream. I use have a tendency to write any remembered dreams on pieces of paper(I find loose papers stored away when going through old stuff).I rarely remembered a dream then. So, I must have been aware at some level of my dreams. It's a very mysterious thing to me (and confusing[:)]).

I suspect you are dreaming, but just can't remember it now. Also, I'm thinking now, could this book have made a mistake when saying that? I've read that people take drugs and drink (alcohol), and still have dreams. One can't believe everything he/she reads?

Hey everybody, Ive been writing my dreams for about 2 weeks now and i want to move on, I want to become lucid. Ive noticed that my dream recall is really good but not good enough.
So if anyone know some type of exercise that i could use would be really good thanx.
