Many people come to ask this question.. Many do even come to state it as fact, yet while exhibiting various levels of understanding, based on current depth of experience.  The shift from an "object" perceived reality to a "subject" perceived reality is not an easy shift to make but is critical to personal level evolvement and can be likened to a shift from dreaming to lucid dreaming.  To a shift from where the focus is on the appearance to the ONE who is behind the appearance.  When this at first happens the appearance [world] does not go away, but rather the perception of it being "outside" you goes away.  From here there can be concentric shifts into spectrums of "you" that will both delight and astound.

Hello omcasey, long time no hear!  :-)

Thanks for sharing this with us!  :-)

Those looking outside are dreaming. Those looking inwards are awakening.
As I see it, those looking out are searching for where they are, how they fit into their existance within this world.
Those looking inwards are already aware that they fit into many worlds and are looking towards what they can do to improve their understanding.
There's far more where the eye can't see.

Hi Lionheart!, hi Szaxx..

In the Jung quote, "Your vision will become clear when you can look into your own heart; who looks outside dreams, who looks inside awakens." - the concept of "outside" is referring exclusively to the visual appearance of things, while "inside" is referring to the consciousness, or awareness the visual appearance of things is happening within.  For their to be a shift in consciousness, a shift in perception, to where the appearance [of the world] is being experienced as IN us, IN our awareness rather than outside of it as a discrete object the focus being currently held in physically experienced reality itself must shift --from the apparent physicality, in toward the ONE who is aware of it.  Then it all becomes clear.

There is no reality OUT THERE----><----the reality is me and the visual field being experienced is a projection of me.

This is true on multiple levels simultaneously, all the way in toward what might be called "Source".

But the physical person/personality level is a challenging one to transcend.

To know there is anything beyond it, first the death grip on it must be released, so that we can slip into what is beyond.

It's not easy.  As any new OBEr knows, right?

Lionheart

This has got to be the reason that my Phase Sessions and LD's become so "unique" when I intend to return to "Source"!  :-)

omcasey

Indeed, from my perspective we are each experiencing our own independent data streams, and we all process data uniquely; to creation this makes us each necessary rather than redundant; critical to an evolving system.

omcasey

Just to put through and emphasize this point--

People are often throwing out a sort of negation of OBEs/APs/LDs because they are quote "all in your mind", aka "subjective". If the subject was never anything more than the person/personality being played in this particular reality it would be one thing. But the truth, is that once the death grip on the appearance of things loosens enough for their to be increased self awareness we begin to know there is a whole lot more to who we are than just this.

Szaxx

Look, it's all in your mind.
That familiar quote gets thrown out when you tell the perpetrator of some event that will happen shortly.
When it occurs they look at you after, somewhat confused. Its mind how you look, in reality
There's far more where the eye can't see.
