you know i had this lucid dream once and it wasnt like any video game that i knew of but at the same time i did have this sense i was in a video game. it made it way easier to manipulate what was happening and it was almost as if i could conciously do whatever i wanted. it was at a school and i saw some children there sitting on a bench with skateboards, i had already realized it wasnt real so i picked up the board and hit him in the face with it. i got absolutely no response out of him but it really seemed that i was in some sort of video game.

I never really had a particular video game dream but I lot of times I will realize I am dreaming and the dream kinda takes on a video game feel to it.  You know I get the store all equipment bag that's got every thing and then some in it.  I tend to have a lot of fun in those dreams because of the whole "being in the game" feeling it creates.

I've had three video game related dreams were I see images from my favorite video games. And another, rather unpleasant dream where I was a participant in some weird video game hunt. I wrote about it before ,   here, I'll just copy and paste it for you guys, enjoy.

"I suddenly appeared in a wierd giant hedge maze, with a clear purple sky above. Then the view zoomed out and showed an overview of this area, like an overview map in a video game, and then there was a blinking light showing my location on the map, as well as a whole bunch of others scattered all around. I call the other blinking lights, "The Hunters", and I could guess their number was anywhere from 50 to 100. Why do I call them that? Well, because they were hunters, and they were after, you guessed it, me! The view then zoomed in, and showed random images of the Hunters. They were wierd, tall and pale skinny men, all dressed in black slacks, black t-shirts, black gloves, black knee length coats, with black sunglasses and short black hair, and carrying Japanese Kitana ninja swords. They resembled Neo from the Matrix movies. They had no facial expressions on them, they just stood there motion-less, like zombies, as if they were waiting for some kind of "Start!" notification. And well, that's what  happened.

The words "Start!" flashed on the "screen". The game had begun, the hunt was on. The view suddenly switched back to me, and they all started coming after me. I was severely outnumbered, I had no weapon to defend myself, just my hands and feet, so I could only do one thing. I ran, and I ran for my life. I was frantically looking for an exit, a hiding place, or maybe to try and loose them, spread them out, and take them out one by one, but I couldn't. It didn't seem to work, they were gaining on me, and fast, and everything I did to loose them  had the exact opposite reaction. It was like they were reading my mind, always one step ahead of me. There were no dead-ends in the maze, it was just an endless never-ending maze, and it seemed to go on forever. The Hunters were gaining on me, first one or two got near me, and I managed to fend them off, but then they just kept coming back. They were like rats swarming to a piece of cheese in a maze, and I was the cheese, a nice big piece of cheese. Gradually, they all found me, when I actually did get to a dead end. But for some reason, they didn't kill me, like I thought would happen. They all stopped and stood there in a crowded line. One of them from the back of the crowd came up infront of the others. I guess he was their leader. He calmly walked up to me and just stood there, examining me with a smirk on his face, his Kitana in his left hand at his side. Well, this is when the bad part comes. He gave a signal, and they all suddenly came after me with their swords, and you can guess what happened next. There was too many of them, they killed me. The one that gave me the death blow thrust his sword downwards from the top of my head into the skull. I could feel the sharp pain, it was terrible, and then the view went black. I woke up scared, gasping for air, and I actually felt a small sharp pain at the top of my head for a second, exactly where the sword had killed me in the dream. [xx(] "

Hi Nrishiraj,

I used (emphasis on used) to get similar some 10 or 12 yrs ago after marathon sessions playing the PC version of Doom. I found it quite unnerving to find myself awaken as if in the middle of say a particular level unable to go no further etc. Eventually during one dream I decided I'd had enough of this do dah, and somehow went lucid. As a result I eventually charged right through to the end game! After that I got exceptionally bored of the whole gaming thing (boo hoo you may say), and never had to face the fiery blobs (dream) again etc.

The subconscious mind re-enacts everyday events – especially those which involve problem solving. So obviously video games are notorious for catalysing this type of dream work!

Are they really worth the time and effort?

Well once years ago when I used to play Street Fighter I dreamt that I was Colonel William Guile which is rather odd since I'm a female.
I kept trying to do these Sonic Booms but they wouldn't come out and my fair skinned muscular arms which I held out in front of got all red from the effort.
Which was rather true of my playing ability in the game back then, I could barely do the Sonic Boom move.

YEA FINAL FANTASY RULES!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHA. cloud is pretty awesome but i would be sepherot(sp)  back to my question....

1.)do you have to LOVE the game to experience it in lucid or do u just have to imagine it while lucid
2.) could you "improvise" certain techniques on games where you learn skills along the way(i.e. DIABLO 2 lord or destruction) such has energy related?

Last week I dreamed that I was playing a video game. Later I still thought I was playing a game but noticed that I couldnt see the screen anymore. It was all around me instead. Somebody in the game wanted me to drive them somewhere. I told them not to get in the car. Its only a game. I can go there instantly. When I tried, it was like pushing the reset button, and I woke up.

I've had dreams where I was a cross between playing a video game and actually being in it...I've also had dreams where I was interacting with cartoon characters...neither were lucid though [:(]

I've had a lucid dream a few times, in which I was in the video game DOOM.

I had a chain-gun,and the monsters from the game were everywhere, and they looked incredibly real.

I wasn't really scared however,'cause I was HEAVILY armed,and I knew it was a dream anyways.[8D]

sometimes one of those white boxes of health would appear, sort of spinning and growing in size from nothing.I ate one,and it was like chewy candy[:D]

I've introduced Deep Hypnosis to nrishiraj a few weeks ago and I mention'd to him that I would place a person into a deep hypnotic state and tell them that they are in their favorite Video Game.

Now nrishiraj is thinking of going to school to become a hypnotist.

IF anyone is interested let me know.

Has anyone had a lucid dream experience where they have chosen their favorite video game and interacted with the characters?
