My Mother's Recurring Dream

As a child, my mom had the same dream once every few weeks and now she only gets it once in awhile. I've tried to find interpretations but I haven't been able to find one. I know it doesn't matter, but I was curious to see what experts had to say about it. It's quite peculiar.

It's very brief. My mother wakes up in the house from her childhood. She looks for her parents and sisters but no one is at home. She steps outside to look for anyone but no one can be found. Suddenly she hears a sound. She looks at the chimney and out comes a black cat with yellow eyes that has six legs. It walks across the roof and as it does it is wobbling back and forth, three right feet and three left feet. As it does this, it says"working working working" over and over again. She then wakes up.

I find it very very intriguing. What do y'all think?

Well, you'll need to find out what all that symbolism means to her.  Nobody can really answer this for you/her.

Her childhood
Parents/siblings missing
Chimney
Black cat / Yellow / Six
"working working working"

That's the symbolism I could find in what you said.  She needs to identify within herself what those things mean.  Then put them together like a puzzle.

Ah. I see. Well I just wanted to see if anyone had any thoughts :P. She hasn't been able to figure it out herself.

Well it's her dream so it's a bit hard for me to know all of the details. She describes it as a nightmare though. She said she felt lonely and scared. Also-- if it helps, she said the whole dream gave her kind of Armageddon feelings. It felt like there was no one around at all except for the cat. She wakes up happy as she usually is, but begins to feel dread as she discovers that no one is around. I'm sure when she saw the cat she was terrified because that's the one detail of the nightmare that she stressed. She said the voice was almost robotic.
