Latest Lucid Dream

Had a very unusual lucid dream t'other night, that was different to my previous ones. Previous ones involved me suddenly realising I was dreaming and could do what I liked. This one, however, involved me more slowly realising I was dreaming, or rather 'awake'. It was just as if I was actually waking up in the morning. I felt myself 'waking up' and becoming conscious. Then I was aware I was in a strange place. I didn't feel there was any need to do a reality check - it was if I just 'knew'.

There was just me. I was in a landscape of different shades of browns. I began to grab at the ground and objects around me to see what it's made of and what other properties it had, but then I felt myself 'falling asleep' and starting to lose consciousness. I panicked that I may lose the lucidness and tried to calm myself and this worked for only a few seconds and then I lost it altogether.

Anyone have experience in being in a similar environment or thoughts on my experience?
