Title: Nausea and dreams
Post by: Naiad780 on January 03, 2005, 16:45:05
I'm just curious.  Is it common to get nauseated upon waking from intense or lucid dreams?   I don't suppose there's much you can do about it -  I'm just wondering if it happens to other people.  It happens to me frequently and always has.  Maybe it has to do with changing realities so quickly.

Bleh, after a very intense lucid dream late this morning, I just want to sit around, stare blankly at the wall, and go "urg" every so often as I wait for the nausea to fade  :(

Has never happened to me before.

Do you experience the same thing when doing some other activities too? Or do you have some content in your dreams that make you feel bad? :(

No, this is a specific type of nausea related to waking up from an intense dream, almost always after napping during the day or sleeping in.  I don't get the sensation any other time.  The content of the dream doesn't matter--good dreams and bad dreams can do it.

It's not a huge deal, I'm just curious!

I have seen something similar only in movie Butterfly Effect. Have you seen the movie? Although it's movie, there can be possibility that something like this (the main character experienced nausea and even vomiting after waking up from intense dream where he tried to change his past life) can happen to some people in real life too.
