OBE (dream?) on a different timeline/alternate reality

I was wondering whether anyone has experienced what I have experienced.  I was asleep and seemed to be watching myself in a scene.  I was hiding behind a corner.  I was watching myself seated at a table with a couple of people.  The time-line was in the 1950's.  I am in daily contact with my spiritual guide, and when I awakened the next day, I asked him if I was dreaming or had had an OBE.  He said that I had had an OBE, and that the scene that I saw was actually him and I on a different time-line. He also said that I was actually seeing one of my past life identities in the scene.  I was also told that I had seen an alternate reality in which events were different than what actually occurred on the Earth plane/in the physical dimension.  Has anyone ever experienced something like this?
