Freaky Doll

I recently had this dream, a couple of months after the one I posted titled, "Vampire Society."

I found myself in an old farm house with a few other girls, whose faces I could not remember. Although they may have been strangers, in our time of need, there was no denying there was a connection between us. The wooden boards could only stand up against the wolves for so long. We looked at each other for direction, only to find that we were too afraid to speak of our impending doom.
It all happened so fast. Fight or flight kicked in. My senses heightened. To the best of my ability, I tried to follow my instincts and listened to the house. I could feel their presence grow in number, as they bolted into the house, one by one.
Was there hope in the slim chance that any of us could escape? I had to have faith. I wanted to survive. I couldn't die like this...I couldn't allow myself to become a rag doll and let myself be destroyed...Not without a fight...There must be a way to escape...If I ran, they would catch me...If I fought, they would kill me. It would only anger them...There must be a way to stay alive.
Our fear, they could sense it. There was nowhere to run or hide. We reeked of it. They emerged from the shadows to prey on the darkest corners of our minds. We were outnumbered and would soon be overpowered. Slowly, but surely, they approached us...Stalking us, watching carefully, as we braced ourselves for judgement. One of the beasts pounced forward and stared me down. At that very moment, I lost sight of what was happening around me. I could only focus on what was in front of me. I could not take my eyes off of him and he would not allow me to escape his. He had chosen. I wasn't prepared for this. They don't teach you about this sort of thing in school, let alone how to survive it.
After a moment of intense contemplation, as if to gauge my worth, he let out a muffled snarl and lounged forward. He had made his decision and I had made mine. I threw out my arm forcibly, shoving it into the jaws of the beast. Naturally he caught the bait, accepting my offer for surrender. Teeth sank into flesh. Blacken lips curled back. If I couldn't make it out alive as I was, maybe I could become one of them. Rebounding upon a broken gaze, I saw a million questions reflecting back. Now, how could I possibly escape? If this were to work, how long would it take for me to change? I didn't think that far ahead...Maybe the wolf didn't either..Maybe this was my chance. As soon as the wolf glanced over at something, I threw him off and ran outside as fast as I could. I didn't know where I was or where I was going, just away from that place, away from the wolves, away from danger. I didn't stop. I couldn't look back. They were faster than me. They would catch up with me soon enough and when they did, I was dead. All I could do was delay the inevitable. Through a field and into the nearby woods, I met with the pack of wolves, only I wasn't one of them. Time stood still as beast and man wagered on their next move. Whether I was an intruder or fresh meat to fill their bellies, I was no friend of theirs and so they had to destroy me.
The pack approached in unison. Slinking closer towards me was my destiny...Whether I lived or died, this was the defining moment. Was I predator or prey? Running wasn't an option this time, they were in for the kill. At that very moment, I knew when I was at my weakest I had to be my strongest...I decided to live...I could feel the change coming on rapidly. Laying aside all doubt and fear, I summoned all the energy I had left in me, and channeled it into what little faith I had into the belief that I could  pull off the seemingly impossible...That I was worthy and I alone had the power to overcome anything...Until that very faith grew large enough to fuel that very belief into manifestation...A warm light conjured, swelled from within. It was everything I had...Life, love, a promise for a better tomorrow... All my wishes merged into one. Something had awakened inside of me, connecting me to a higher power. Drawing from this source, I felt full, confident...Whole in a sense, more so than I had ever felt before. Consumed by fighting spirit, it was will that broke through the barrier of its confines...Obscuring the threads of fate... Mine was my own to make. I wasn't about to let anyone or anything take that away from me without a real fight. The more the pack read into my intentions, the more uneasy they became, as they discovered the truth behind the real me. The predictability of the world they once knew, was about to shift and crack into a million pieces.
Beauty was no longer afraid of the beast once she realized there was nothing to fear. Fear was an illusion. Fear meant giving up and she wasn't about to do that. She was strong, just as strong, if not stronger than the beast...Because she was still standing...With the courage mirrored before her, it was beauty who had the power to slay the beast, when she became one herself.
Engulfed in the brilliant glow of the divine, emerged a beautiful creature of light. Being new to this skin, I was slightly disorientated. My binocular field of vision was more narrow than that of a human's, but my peripheral spread further around. Not only could I see, but I could also feel... My furry paws lifting up as I examined them...Long, elegant tail sway about akin to my emotions/thoughts...The glamour of my coat and build made me stick out from the other wolves. I was significantly lighter. A dull grey, or ivory perhaps. I couldn't tell. I was still getting used to this body. The others ranged from a mix of brown, black, and medium to dark grey. I was bigger than the wolves in front of me. Looking on from a distance, there were others similar in size to me and larger.
The encroaching threat loomed near. I stood my ground and my body followed. Somehow, as I was finding my voice...It started as a growl, then turned into a roar...The kind that made a statement, which held enough force to make an enemy take a step back, and they did just that.  I was no longer a little girl lost in the woods. I had found myself. I was a survivor and I wasn't going to give up without a fight.
Seeing their intent halted, I bolted off further into the woods, quickly passing trees and brush. I ran for awhile, until I blacked out. Everything went dark. I couldn't see anything. My sight came back suddenly. I awakened inside, yet another house. I was in a pen, still in wolf's skin. Everyone else was in human form. There were so many of them rummaging through the place.
Tuning into my senses, I observed for a moment, searching for answers as to why I was there in the first place. Shortly after targeting the most authoritative figures in the room, I was able to locate them.  The king of werewolves acknowledged my presence. We exchanged glances and he continued to carry on with his duties, conveying a message to someone.
Feeling a little more at ease, I jumped out of the pen and transformed back into a human. There was a lady standing in front of the doorway leading into the kitchen, busily jotting things down onto a clipboard.  She was the coordinator of whatever they were trying to do there. After taking her eyes off of the clipboard, she notices that I am awake and proceeds to tell me to leave. I was a little hesitant to comply, because I got the feeling that I was getting kicked out of my own house. But it wasn't worth having a confrontation over a place I had no recollection of, only basing it on a feeling. I walk outside and back into the woods to continue my journey.

wow (claps) exilerating, I was right there with you, at first I thought once you mustered up all that strength and will power, it would had over taken you and made you exit the experience all together but you held your own wtg. I with me in my experience I already have these beastly instincts within me and I react on them, here are some of my experiences with a bit of similarity to yours.

Freaky Doll

I read your post. It's always good when a dream ends well. You were reunited with your family.  :-) Any idea why you were being chased?

Bloodshadow

I don't think I really reunited with them just watched over them from a far to keep the gov't off them. not sure why they were chasing, but if I had to take a few guesses i'd say the same reasons they chase down crashed UFOs, to keep the public from seeing thing they may not understand, and to avoid panic. another reason is to study us and do tests for their own agendas. and another just to have control.

Freaky Doll

Maybe some of us are experiments.   :-)
