Hi Mike17,

A lucid dream is knowing that you are in a dream, and exercising conscious control within the dream. For example, while lucid, one will make the decision to fly, knowing all the while that they are in a dream. There is a great website you may be interested in: http://www.lucidity.com

Also, the dream state is an excellent time for some people to project from. There is a book called The Projection of the Astral Body by Sylvan Muldoon & Hereward Carrington. In the book Muldoon relates his experiences projecting from the dream state.

Lastly, sometimes while lucid, we make the decision to fly or jump a great distance, only to wake up. With time and practice, one can usually stay in the lucid state.

This topic may be better suited for our Welcome to Dreams forum. Should you want it moved, let me know and I'll move it. [;)]

Very best,
Nick

I am an active lucid dreamer.  The moment I know I'm dreaming everything shifts (for me).  I guess my question for you is what is your dream self image?  We all have an image of ourselves.
Mine is always a wizard/power worker.  I never have an issue summoning up power and using it, its always the most natural thing to do.  This means flying and projecting is never an issue for me (shielding is automatic as well).

I guess the hard part of lucid dreaming is doing something useful.  The ability to go off into some fantasy word is very strong, and it takes a lot of effort to know what you need to do and go do it.  For me, certain acts (sex chief among them) always wake me up.  Other acts (fighting or being injured) that I think should, don't.

Thanx for the Link m8, the site is great, and yes please move the topic for me

2. sorry poster of second topic, but i cant remember your name, but if u r still interested, i was having a recurring dream, every few times a month, sometimes up to twice a week, i cant remember the details, but basically, i was in summin that looked like a glacier, i was all alone, everything was white and i was in a glass tube that was bout twice as big as my body, but seemed to stretch up infinitley, that is when i realised, i was dreaming

Symbols mean different things to different people, that's a product of your upbringing (and past lives).  I have 3 re-occuring dreams, all 3 stress related, I like to think of them as my Metaphysical barometer.

I guess the question is: What does the dream mean to you?  I have a number of interpretations to your dream, but I'm reluctant to put my musings into your mind.  What did you do when you realized you were dreaming?  Did you try to wake up, or get out of the tube?

Please do list what you think, i promise not to let them go straght to me, but i am very interested in your theories,

When i realised i was dreaming, i thought i would take flight and leave the tube, i didnt have any desire to wake at that moment, but it was really hard to stay asleep

I see it as a test.  You can stay frozen forever in your current state, or you can accept what you know to be true and leave by flying up and out of the tube.  You could also melt your way out, but the obvious exit is up and out.  The third alternative is to wake up.

Hey guys.

I was just wondering, a Lucid dream is haveing your mind active in a dream right? so can you totally controll the dream e.g. could you fly if you wanted to?, and also is there a huge difference between between AP and Lucid Dreaming, if there is, is it easier to leave your body while in a lucid dream and finally, i had a dream last night but i knew i was dreaming, but only for bout 5-6 seconds, i didnt want to wake up, but i couldnt help, it, it was like waking up was forced onto me, does this happen to anyone else??
