Title: Questions about Lucid Dreams
Post by: MilesB on April 06, 2011, 23:09:56
When you lucid dream, does it ever happen that the action just stops?
Often when I get to the point where I'm aware in my dream, the story will just stop progressing and I won't really be able to do anything. Am I really lucid dreaming, or am I just thinking while semi conscious? or does anyone know what is going on with this?

If you end in some kind of black void or can't see anything, yes that happens. I haven't figured out how to exit that without waking up, but spinning around and waiting for the next dream scenario is recommended by some LDers.

It sounds like you're becoming lucidly aware in the middle of a subconscious storyline, hence ending the storyline.  With no more subconscious to feed the storyline, everything would seem to just stop.

That's my guess anyway.  :)

Yeah, that's what it feels like. Like I'm being told a story, I interrupt it, and then I have to make up stuff (which is never as good) to keep it going.

I read this thread yesterday and then lastnight the same thing happend to me.
I usually dont lucid dream so after creating a few things I started dancing around singing about how I knew I was dreaming lol geek I know I was really excited.
suddenly I looked around and I was standing in blackness...

If it happens again I will try spinning around...

Heh, dream-walking is one of my main focuses right now. I find I don't even get a chance to have the storyline stopped; As soon as I become lucid, I get sucked right out of the dream. Funny thing is, I'm not actually pulled out, it's a false awakening. Usually become lucid by just checking my hands every time I "wake up".
