The female may be telling you what you want to hear, leave her alone, she's happy. Your dealing with only the information you are able to receive at this time. Your light or energy is not "on" at this time on the higher levels. Your using lower means for this situation. Your questioning. You may be through your pet, gaining insight. Petting could mean getting "in touch" with something instinctive within yourself.Your dealing with the loss, and also dealing with the subject of death, and most likely, the fear that often goes along with it. I have heard spirits visit but not familar with this very much as far as dreams go. The subject of death or the sadness may be the aspect your not seeing at the "higher level" yet.The cat is receiving the picture (watching tv).This is an aspect of you seeing or receiving the information. The cat may be the guide for you.
Talking to someone could help in the here and now for you. Reason being, when you woke up you placed the cat downstairs. These are deeper issues, and on ground level. This means it could be effecting your daily living,even if may be in a small way.

Could be a literal experience as well. Cats are supposedly one of the most spiritual/psychic animals.
I had one dream a few years ago that I was in my kitchen and ran into my dog that had died maybe 3 years before that. She got very excited to see me or that I could see her, then I got nervous at the concept of a dead dog still being around, and woke up.
A neat dream I had long before I knew of OBE, maybe when i was 8, i had a fish tank in my room. One night I 'dreampt' (most likely obe looking back) that they were all out of their tanks swimming around in the air. I thought it was silly for them to do so, so I softly herded them back in with my hands.
If you're missing your cat so much, mabye she's trying to give you sublte contact to realize she's not 'gone' nor will you be when you go.

Is it possible for the spirits of your pets to visit you? For some reason, every once in a while i have a dream where my cat is alive and well. She died of cancer, i think cancer in New york is high because now thats 2 things i was close to died, and im only 15, but anyway, in some dreams i just pet my cat for the short while i have in my dream and spend time with her. But back in August or early sept, i had a dream that my cat was watchin tv in the living room. The lights up stairs were off, so i was going downstairs to visit my cat for the little time i had in my dream, i was just about to go down, and some lady in her 30s or 40s stopped me and said "Stop, dont go down there, she is happy now, dont disturb her". I didnt understand that but i just stayed upstairs and woke up a second after. I havent had a dream of my cat after that, but the reason y i was so sad about my cat dieing was the way she died, she had lung cancer, and her last day she had no strength and my parents werent home to notice it so she just had to die that way.
Every man has their fear of dieing, whether it be of pain or not knowing where you are going, however, mine is the family, memories, and good times i leave behind.
