Title: sleep paralysis
Post by: kelsie900 on April 20, 2011, 08:32:07
Hi, i messaged months ago , i had sleep paralysis where i was dragged out of my bed and it terrified me :(
Theres been no more repeat experiences till last night.

I woke up in the morning with that horrible buzzing in my ear, i again was dragged out of bed and i floated around the bedroom, i didn't try to fight it this time, i tried to fly through the wall but i couldn't so i tried the door and i seemed to float through there okay. I tried to go out the window then with no luck , i don't know why i was trying to get out, i just wanted to know how far i could go and what i was experiencing. So i floated over to the mirror where i saw my reflection in the air kicking around like i was learning to fly like in peter pan lol except i was terrified. My eyes were fuzzy and nothing was really clear yet i could see my feet then on the floor in my reflection but then above it i saw my floating reflection like there was 2 of me :S
I then floated down the stairs again and tried to float out the door, failed that. Then i asked out loud why i was here and if there was anyone here can they show themselves, No response. Next thing i'm back in the bedroom floating over the bed with the same buzzing in my ear which started to freak me out, felt like if i didn't wake myself up i was gonna die or something. :(

What am i meant to do when this happens and what does this mean? x

First, you'll have to get a handle on the fear thing.  I believe that everything you're experiencing is a direct metaphor for your fears.  It's a direct manifestation of your fears.

As I said, you need to learn to get a hold of your fear... there's nothing to be afraid of while OBE.

Like Xanth said, I think you're meant to take an 'interested' position instead of a fearful one- as if you had been flown to another country and now are a tourist.  See the sights, etc.
ps. The 'horrible' buzzing is not a bad thing- it's just separation side effect.  That you characterize it as 'horrible' is very telling.

okay if it happens again i will try and and look at it differently. Any idea what i am meant to do though because i was floating around the house, i couldn't go through a wall but i could go straight through the closed bedroom door. I tried to go through the window and front door and that didn't work so i went back upstairs where i just floated above the bed and i didn't know if i was meant to be doing anything or not and so i got scared and jolted myself awake.  :?

And do you think you know why this happens to some people and not others? i am a little spiritual but i have no religion, i've always had an open mind . I told my Dad and he said that sometimes he goes to sleep and wakes up unable to breath, but nothing like what i have experienced.

xx

Just explore, investigate.  If you can't get out of the room then there must be something in the room you're supposed to inspect-so look around, see if something doesn't belong- and if you find something that doesn't, investigate that.

I think this happens to everyone- but some people sleep more deeply than others, and the deep sleepers won't become conscious enough to remember, or will process it as a dream.

That sounds like either sleep paralysis or sleep apnea, and apnea should be checked out by a doctor.
