I read the thread where people described how they got shot etc. in dreams and then died but this is a bit different from it so I decided to make a new thread.

Did anyone ever commit suicide in a dream? I did it once because I was in a wheelchair and had bad vision in my dream so I rolled myself down an elevator shaft or something and woke up after impact. Did anyone ever do something similar?

The other thing I did multiple times in my nightmares (the ones were stuff chases you like werewolfs, vampires, [enter creature of choice here]) is give up running at a point, just wait and let myself get bitten so it all ends. I normally wake up after this.

I think these experiences come close to lucid dreams because well how else would I know that the nightmare etc. will end if I let myself get caught by the thing chasing me and die/ get converted from it? The problem is why don't I know that I could just command the creature to go away and it should listen if I am in a fully lucid state...... experiences like this and a different one I had make me wonder if there is a dream state where your partially lucid (you know that some parts of the dream are a dream but think that other parts are reality).

Ah, when I was having this kind of dreams I began to take note of them, and never stopped.

There's one I can remember, don't know how it started, but I was in my room and it was full of explosives, I was tied to all of them, suddenly I blew myself up and turned into a ghost.

I was desperate to tell my parents what happened, I was confused and regretful, then I woke up.

About the monsters, they used to bother me a lot during childhood, and like you, I knew I could make it stop, but instead of letting them catch me I would just close my eyes very tight and I was sure that I wouldn't be there anymore when I opened them.

I was just lucid enough to escape them and not to fight them.

One interesting thing about monsters is that I had nightmares of them until some 5 years ago, and then I had the chance to really face them. They were all surrounding me, big angry beasts, full of thorns and nasty teeth, as they approached me I put them to fight against each other, and they burned with each attack.

They were flaming, screaming, so I took full control of it and told them to stop,  and one by one they became peaceful, the lioness started walking between my legs like a little cat, the monsters came to me, and not like monsters anymore they started greeting me saying 'Goodnight'.

Man, it felt so good. I knew I had done the right thing, and since that dream I can't remember ever seeing monsters again.

Where does this silence come from?

Several.

Most are around the context of me blowing my head with a gun, or sticking a knife trough my heart/stomach.

I've never died or commited suicide in a dream. I don't really have dreams with monsters or scary creatures in them. I think the closest I've come to anything like that is one dream where I fell off of a mountain. The dream ended when I got toward the bottom, but I didn't wake up.
