Title: Teeth
Post by: Manix on June 18, 2004, 14:16:58
Having your teeth fall out in a dream is a common dream theme that may suggest, "You don't have a grip on something, or there is something you just can't sink your teeth into sort of meaning."
That's the common dream theme interpretation only.

On a practical note, it could also possibly be a warning that you need to brush and floss more often.   [:o)]

the interpretation I'm most familiar with is a reluctance to grow up-- i.e. losing your milk teeth.

I have this dream quite often hahaha.

kai,
Teeth is one of the most common of dream symbols. A health issue in the sense that you may be clinching and grinding in your sleep. The reason may be due to malocclusion (sp?) where you have a "bite" problem. If not corrected, you will lose teeth in the long run (although teeth have great regenerative ability). It's a habit and related to "chewing" on daily issues. It's also associated with the phrase, "teeth are on edge". Clutching down with stress or unresolved or uncontrolled issues.

There is various opinions on which comes first, the chewing on things (emotional), or the "bite" problem (physical).

I've read it has to do with vanity and insecurity. "Do I look good enough?", "Will she think I'm pretty?".

I've read it's when your anxious about something.

I have teeth falling out dreams on a regular basis.  It's not very pleasant is it?!

[:D][:D][:D][:D]

Go to the dentist, just in case it's a literal dream!!

Ho hum.

Hehe, atleast I know I'm not alone in having this kind of dream.  They scare me so much, b/c they tend to seem so real, and I usually wake up freaked out.  Usually I'm either in a car or in my room looking in the mirror.  I usually realize I have some loose teeth (sometimes it's all of them, but sometimes it's only a few) and pull them out myself, lol... I don't have any trouble pulling them though.  I wonder which meaning tends to be most accurate - 4 or 5 different ones have been mentioned, lol

I have these dreams very often, i was always told that it's because i'm anxious about something. But in this post i have seen many more explinations, all of which could apply to me [8D]

The dream itself is very vivid and i often wake up thinking i don't have certain teeth. It is very scary but the great sigh of relief when i find out i do have my teeth is great lol.

Glad to see many more people have this dream.

thanks to this post I had a tooth-falling-out dream.  It was loose and I kept sticking it back in there and holding it in place.  yuck! ack!  but I had also been obsessing over how it is angled funny before I went to bed, and sat there actually pressing it in the right direction.  I figure over time it will move.  I'm such a weirdo.

I'm normally ok at understanding dream symbols, but this one has thrown me.

For a few nights in a row I'd dreamt that all my teeth fell out.

Any ideas what this could mean?
