I'm talking about the DreamGenie: http://www.galantaminedreams.com/dreamgenie-lucid-dream-induction-device

It looks like a really innovative device, because its so simple.  Does anyone have any positive/negative reviews on this thingie??

I'd like to hear both please, before I plop money on it

That thing is $99 .  I can think of cheaper ways to know if I am dreaming or not .  desert rat

Can you explain this better, please??

I think almost any thing that you haft to do manualy would work .  Bed side radio , table lamp , t.v. remote , ect .   If you can turn your t.v. on with the remote your probly awake .   desert rat

I've had lucid dreams both with a Nova Dreamer and the Dream Genie so perhaps I can comment.

It actually is quite difficult to tell if you are awake or not.  A lot of people (including me) spend hours wishing they were asleep, when they actually ARE asleep and are just having a boring dream of lying awake in bed.

What you want to do is try anything that you can use as a reality check that won't further wake you up if you aren't quite asleep.  I found that the arm to face motion required for pushing the button on the Nova Dreamer would often wake me up further and prevent me from quickly drifting back into dreaming.

What you want is some reality check that doesn't also wake you up in case you aren't yet dreaming.  I definitely wouldn't use the remote because the TV definitely WILL wake you up if you aren't solidly asleep.  Also sometimes even looking at your digital clock can wake you up from half asleep to fully awake.

If you can figure out some way to wear a rubber band so you can flick it without further waking yourself up, that might be worth a try.  I also wouldn't use a needle because there is too much effort to prick yourself safely.

I like the Dream Genie because it made it easy to do a reality test without further waking myself up if I was only half asleep.

I think the Dream Genie will be like the masks in that it won't work for everybody but it will probably work for a lot of people and those people are going to have a lot of fun!

Hi Fresco,

Ahh, relax and have fun dreaming!  Lucid dreaming is a grand adventure and there are lots of different ways to get there.  I had my first lucid dreams without any devices at all.

Try the rubber band thing and let me know if it works for you.

The Dream Genie is new on the market so there are not a lot of people who have experience with it.  However I do think that of those who have used Nova Dreamers or other masks, many people had their lucid dreams as a result of the reality check button, so there is significant evidence that a different reality checking method may work for a lot of people.

Here's to the grand adventure of lucid dreaming, no matter how you get there!
