The Galley Murder

It was a dark wintry night in England.  No idea which century, but a long long time ago.

A friend of mine was on trial and I knew she would be executed.  The trial was going to take place on a wooden galley ship.

I had booked into a hotel by the port in order that I could be with my friend in her last few hours for support.

I walked onto the ship.  I didn't know where my friend was, but I knew she was onboard somewhere.  It was quiet and atmospheric.

A shiphand came to walk alongside me.  He was also part of the ship's trial judges and I knew that he was against my friend - and that in turn he was against me, for being a friend of the accused.

He led me to a quiet part of the ship, whilst talking to me.  I knew intuitively what was going on.  I was calm and peaceful, and knew that this was my fate.  I showed no fear.

I knew without a doubt that I was about to be murdered.

He cornered me and asked me if I believed in god.  "No," I said.  He then asked if I'd left my contact details at the hotel.  "Yes," I said, thinking this might worry him.

I then wondered how I was going to die - would it be with a knife?

Just then, another man came out of the shadows and grabbed me around the neck.  I knew then that I was going to die of a broken neck, and with this thought, I relaxed and moved my head so he wouldn't mess it up, and would break it cleanly.

As he broke my neck, I awoke extremely calm.

I wonder if the above is a past/alternate life?  It certainly was one of those more vivid and "realistic" dreams.

I don't recall who the friend was, what she was on trial for or anything like that.  Once I'd awoke, I wondered whether both my friend and I were witches and she'd been found out.  I was implicated, but they couldn't put me to trial, however "everyone" knew that I was a witch too, hence it was in "their" best interests to get rid of me as well.

Rather gruesome way to die.  But quick though.

We all find nonsenses to believe in; it's part of being alive.

Very interesting read! I suppose it's possible that it was from a past life...perhaps someone else on here with more knowledge in this subject could help you out.
