Title: Unusual LD for me

Cool! Maybe I should start meditating. I tried it once, but my cat started bothering me. "Pet me! Feed me! Me-e-e-eow!" All he ever says...

jouni,

Your experience is similar to one I dreamt about a week ago. In it, I found myself standing at the top of a long set of steps, outside somewhere.

Then, I thought to myself, "I can jump down off the side b/c I know this is a dream and I won't get hurt". What I did then was to jump, and as I started to head slowly downwards, I unfortunately woke up.

It was disappointing to wake up b/c I was thinking once I floated down I could try other experiments within the dream.

I just brought this up b/c your post reminded me of it. I guess the point would be that doing meditation, or getting to a mind awake/body asleep state beforehand does seem to enhance later dream quality and lucidity.

Y just wanted to share this eve though it's not really exciting.

Took a nap earlier today and found myself in a dream, standing on one hand on th ehandlebar trying to stop myself from falling over.
Now I casually said to myself "Ah, can't really do this so I must be dreaming".
Then it struck me, I've never actually said any words after thinking them so this was the first time I was affecting the dream. I decided to will myself float upwards and only managed to wake up.

What separates this from my usual LDs is that 1)I actively communicated withthe surroundings and 2)I tried to affect the events, something I never do. I just watch.

This happened after an hours empty mind meditation that went by in an instant. It seems practise is starting to pay off.
