Did you know that you were dreaming at the time?
Or Did you actually think that you were awake and getting ready for work like a "normal" day?
Did this happen just before you actually woke up?

KP,
Personally,I'm thinking of it being stressful situation for you. I think many get sucked into society's collective and negative thinking patterns. Society and/or the collective isn't concerned with your personal self and well being. The result is failure, not yours,it's the no win situation that causes it.Maybe your being nudged to step away from the crowd?

Hello C.N.,

I'm pretty sure I was aware that I was dreaming, however, It was hard to tell. I really thought that I was getting ready for work, it felt like I was getting for work. This did happen right before I woke up, it was all just very strange. I really thought I was late for work, I could not try to wake myself, because I was not sure how?

Well since you think that you were aware, just not able to do any thing about it, I would have to say you were dreaming.  I thought maybe you had a false awakening.

There are a couple of things that can cause the "work" dream.  You mostly have to look at how you feel about work to figure it out.  Work, as stated about, can be a very stressful enviroment for most people.  That being you don't like going because of the job itself, or perhaps some one you don't like is there.  This can cause the brain to try and deal with the stress in different ways.  The main one being dreaming.  So it works like this, you hate work and end up having dreams of having really bad days at work.

Now one of the big reasons I say you have to look at how you feel about work is because your dreams about work could have nothing to do with work at all.  Instead they have to do with feelings being generated else were that are closly related to the way you feel about work.  An example would be that you work with this person, and they do some thing that kinda bothers you, but you blow it off because your at work.  Now later on you're walking down the street and you run into this other person who does almost the same exact thing as the person from work.  But this time it bothers you more because you're not at work and feel that you should not have to deal with it.  So what happens is later that night you have a work dream involving the guy from work you don't like instead of the dude on the street that really ticked you off, because the guy at work is more familiar to you, and generates similiar feelings.

Does that make sence?

So basically you have to look at how work makes you feel, look to see if you have run into anything similar else ware, look at how the dream made you feel, and compare them.  This will help you get a better picture of what is going on.

Work. Do more. Do it fast. Do it efficiently. Make a profit. Do your job and shut up. Be the slave we pay you to be. A common way of thinking. This is why I think you had that dream.

There is probably something you are trying to "WORK" at that may be causing you some stress or anxiety.

Have you felt that you were working hard on something and getting no where fast (as shown in your delay on the expressway to work).

This is the best interpretation I can make with the little details of your dream (believe it or not, there's probably a lot more details that you missed.. try writing your dreams down after waking).
The more details the better. Also, try to describe your emotions in great detail when telling your dreams.  I find that the only thing that never need interpreting is your emotions. They are real, whether asleep or awake.  They are literal.

I hope this helps.

drinsomno,

No I have not tried to meditate, I actually have trouble trying to meditate. I can only have OBE'S naturally, I can never induce an OBE by relaxation. Can you give any good advise to help me focus?

I'm hoping someone can help me with this dream, it started I was in my house in my bedroom. All night I kept having these dreams that I was going to be late for work? In my dream I looked at the clock and it was about 9:00am, two hours after I'm supposed to be at work. I jump out of bed, and now I'm rushing all around the house. When I'm dressed and all ready to leave, the next thing you know I'm in bed again. The whole thing happens all over again, it happened about three times. Needless to say...............I was very annoyed. When I was able to finally leave my house in the dream, the express way was backed up for miles. I never made it to work, put it this way I had the day off today so I'm not sure why I was dreaming like this?
