Hi, I've kept trying lucid dreaming/astral projecting for a few months now and something strange happened.

In my dream, there was a serpent-like river and I was in a boat with a person, also in a boat, next to me. Suddenly, I deviated from that river into the pine trees around it and flew up (still inside the boat), felt really weird and for some reason it looked like i was a newbie at it, kept going up, then falling down. And the person next to me seemed like he/she was giving me advice on how to do it. Then, while I was in the air, I looked around and saw the most magnificent view of my life, but at the end of that river I saw my bed empty and thought: "Wouldn't it be funny if someone humped the blanket?" Then, suddnely, the blanket moved by itself like someone was really humping it. Then I woke up for some reason and felt really happy

I've made an image of how my dream looked like (looks like a 4yo made it)  http://i.imgur.com/Ktq0yTf.png?1  , but you get the idea.
A is me. B is that person, I have no idea who she/he is, can't even remember the face. The C is my bed and at the end of the river, next to me is a waterfall.

Another dream which led me to thinking I was lucid dreaming.

I was flying around in a city, never seen it. Flew around for about 5 minutes, touching a river with my toes and all that fun stuff. Then I saw one of  my neighbours, who was in Ukraine at that moment, walking around the city. I don't know why , but I was afraid to go and say hi. So I thought I'll avoid him. Suddenly night came and I was facing a dark alley, I said to myself: "Maybe there's a drug addict there, I'll make fun of him because I'm flying and he can't reach me." And then I literally got teleported in the middle of the dark alley and saw a person running towards me (I was still flying). That scared the crap out of me and I woke up.

Only those 2 things happened in the course of, probably 5 or 6 months. Any thoughts? :D

Hello fromromania,

Welcome to the Pulse!

Many times when a person first begins to consider and then pursue astral projection, some preliminary issues need to be explored in our subconscious; this shows up in our dreams.

Maybe the first dream was exploring the idea of flying or leaving your normal dreamscape and to see how you might react to that. The 'sheet-humping' might refer to issues involving leaving your bed and bedroom environment. This could include the introduction of a hint of the sexual issues that many projectors have to overcome.

The second dream, you were actually flying all by yourself and you had no problem with that! Congratulations! However, you did run into a fear issue just a moment later. Do you see how the initial uncertainty of meeting a neighbor morphed into a stronger fear issue?

These are small but significant tests you are already providing yourself. Just some ideas...
Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.

Do your best to remember that your thoughts will appear. If you think of a druggy in a dark alley you'll be in the alley and a druggy will be there too.
This is how your fears can appear and you end up scareing yourself.
Think of nice things and they'll appear.
Google some images of the city where your neighbour is, you may find similarities with what you saw in the experience.
There's far more where the eye can't see.
Close your eyes and open your mind.
