Hey everyone.  I'm new to these boards and I have a question.

Sometimes when I fall asleep I enter this state where my body is sleeping and my mind is awake.  I'm not dreaming or anything, I'm just floating in nothingness and consciously thinking the way I normally do.  Sometimes I hear strange things like telephones ringing, thunder, loud bangs.  I also seem to be able to control/charge energies in my body (very strange body sensations).

Anyway, my question is, what exactly is this that I am experiencing?  Can I astral project when I'm in this state?

I used to be pretty freaked out when this happened to me, because I feel very vulnerable in this state and I can't wake myself up easily.  Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Selski

hello thecurerules

I have to disagree with your name - they are a good band, but they don't rule!

You are well on your way to projecting.  My advice would be to read around on the Forums, especially the FAQs and the Permanent Topics.

If you can't wake yourself up easily, you may be experiencing Sleep Paralysis.  If you do a search for this, you'll find many many posts about it.

Good luck and welcome to the Forums.

Yes, it sounds similar to sleep paralysis accompanied by auditory hallucinations. Also, while dropping off to sleep, your hearing cuts out and can cause strange sounds sometimes. You might also be hearing distant sounds very clearly, which I've heard sometimes happens to people while drifting off to sleep.
