What more can you do in a lucid dream?

Is there only so much you can do when it comes to lucid dreaming? I want to know. I've had lucid dreams where i've wanted to fly, breath underwater, walk through objects, controlling the movement of other objects to creating other objects. Yet, it seems to me now that when I become lucid I want to stop playing and learn more about what I'm doing, where I can go with this. Lately, my lucid dreams have turned into the urge to converse with other people in my dreams and trying to make them aware that I'm dreaming and that they're in my dream. What I've also been doing lately is calling for my spirit guide- who never seems to show. I've also been asking where I am and MAINLY TECHNIQUES ON HOW TO REMAIN LUCID FOR AS LONG AS I WANT. Is there something I'm missing. Carlos Casteneda talks about these "gates" one can walk through while dreaming. I've tried a couple of his techniques in my dreams in order to stay lucid and the first time it worked beautifully. Now when I retry the techniques it actually has a reverse effect on my lucidity. It is as though it takes it immediately away. I'm by no means trying to boast myself. I came here asking for advice and help with what I feel can lead to many wonders. I feel there is A LOT that I'm missing out on and I want to harness that sacred time of lucidity to do what is best for me.

Thanks,
Russel

Whatever your usual meditation technique is, can you do it in your lucid dreams?

What happens when you raise energy in a dream? Does it carry over after you wake up?

Have you tried being aware when you are between dreams?

When you study something during the day, can you explore it more deeply by dreaming about it at night?

Lucid dreaming can offer you direct communication with your subconscious, which is pretty big in itself. Psychologists believe everything you've ever seen or experienced, even if you never consciously thought about it, is stored in your subconscious. Anything you enjoy doing in waking life you can do in your dreams, and that way you can hone skills you might have, etc. It seems like it'd be hard to tell whether something is true or totally a part of your imagination as far as reading new material goes, I dunno, but maybe something you can play around with.

Try to start converting LD's into AP's?

I am in the same state...  flying around, changing the sky's color, etc. is fun but...  I need to find a "real" purpose/goal.

Russel, did you already played with letting yourself fall backward (or dive forward) into the ground...?
QuoteCarlos Casteneda talks about these "gates" one can walk through while dreaming.
These are not "real" gates you go through, it's more like levels/steps of practice.

You reach the first gate when you become lucid.  You pass it by maintaining lucidity.

You reach the second gate when you are able to "travel" (switch dream environment/scenario).  You pass it when you find a scout and ask him to bring you into his world...

You reach the third gate when you see your physical body (RTZ).  You pass it when you move around in the RTZ.

The fourth gate is dreaming someone else's dream...
The fith, sixth and seventh gates... no idea.

Personaly, I am stuck at 2; never found a scout yet...  Once I grabbed something that "attacked" me and it did pull me very fast to some unknown location.  After a while (like 20 seconds) and crossing some kind of "border" (felt/heard a deep/low vibration/bell), I got a little worried to go too far and released him and woke up...

Hello there,
Tom, thanks for the suggestions. Very much appreciated. I can't wait to try them out. How can one raise their energy in a dream. Is it by the mere thought of doing so, or getting it off of other things? I happened to exchange energy with a few people in one of my dreams and had profound effects - like gravitational pull, and a very strong sense of lucidity accompanied by keen awareness of my senses. Never happened again though - even when I search for them now in lucid dreams...teehee. Hmmm, I wonder who they were or if it was just me?? I've tried to keep lucidity through the dream, but never the intent on being aware on going on to another dream. I've never seen the transitional period between the two, only the realization that it had changed at some point. What's that like? Have you experienced it?
No leaf clover, thanks for your input. That's a solid little hint on honing in on my skills here in this world. Never thought of just going into a dream and working on those skills. Sllick excrement. Thanks. Oh, and how can I convert L.D.'s into A.P's? I've seen it discussed here before but I can't find it again!
Nagual, you stirred something inside of me when you mentioned "did you already played with letting yourself fall backward (or dive forward) into the ground...?" I've had experiences where I've meditated and gone into a scene where I've let myself fall forward and it was the craziest feeling. I would be staring at the ground and it would feel as though I was slowly falling towards it. It made me think of another part of myself was shifting back on another plane...perhaps RTZ. What's up with that? What do you think that is? IS it phasing and if it is what can I do with it?

Thanks a lot for the replies!!!

Tom

While I could not meditate in a lucid dream, I did manage to draw in energy in a lucid dream. I have been using reiki for some time now and it worked even more easily in a dream as while awake.

nicedreams

I have my first lucid dream last night in a long time. I tried to fly and would like float back down i could not see very good but i did not try to see much either i remember wanting to fly into space and i poped into it after trying then i went back to sleep i think i remember being stuck in a house with zombies attacking lol.

You

Whatever you want, you're lucid.

Just remember that it's a dream and you can do whatever you want, think to other dreams you've had, imagining them should be enough to do whatever you did in them, even if they weren't lucid ones. Practice.
