i usually get up at 5, but because of taking pain pills i just couldn't get out of bed.  When my roommate came to get me, at 5,  i asked him to wake me up at 10 til 6 so i could take him to work.  i went back to sleep.

He opened the door without knocking (which is unusual) and told me it was ten to...i thanked him and took a couple more minutes.  When i finally decided to wake up i looked at my hand to see how much time i had left before i had to really get up...my watch was not on my hand!?  You see i don't ever take my watch off except to bathe.   So i looked at the clock for the time and it said 5:40...i wondered why he woke me up so early.  Now i looked for my glasses and hoped they were where i put them last night...they were.  Curious though, i'm extremely near sighted and can't read anything more than one foot away...my clock is about 6 feet from where i sleep...i read the clock without my glasses?!

When i got dressed and walked into the kitchen i asked him why he woke me up 10 minutes. earlier than i asked (Yes i read the correct time..it was 5:45 when i walked in the kitchen..i checked the clock in there).  He told me he didn't, i told him he did.  He got a bit perturbed and told me he didn't and said he'd been in the kitchen since he knocked at my door at five....hmmm?  i asked him if he was sure and then he began to describe everything he did from the time he woke up...  After that i looked at my wrist to make sure my watch wasn't there....it wasn't...it was on my bed lying neatly next to the spot i slept on.

Can someone please tell me what kind of experience this was?
Thank you,

inharmony,
This kind of experience is called a false awakening. It can also be called hypnagogic activity. One is most suseptible for this while falling asleep, and while waking up.

i most definitely thank you!
